Phew! It's done! This is a project that has been on my mind for about a year. The original book, Turn Left Turn Right by Jimmy Liao, has 132 pages telling a story about how destiny toyed with two lovers. I borrowed the idea and created a version of mine. It is said that love will look for you when the destiny allows. I don't know how true it is. What's important to me is we have to grab the chance when it comes. Losing is too easy. How much can we afford to lose in our lives? I hope you enjoy exploring love and destiny with me as you view these pictures. Thanks everyone again for your time and support to my crazy ideas. :)

The beginning of my foolhardy attempt at hitch hiking through the Swiss alps. This was outside of Bolzano, Italy on my first day.... Only made it about 100K in 12 hours. I had just gotten off of 5 flights between Australia and Italy and was scared shitless. This picture looks like I felt at the time

1/52 - Beginnings.
This marks Week 1 of a 52 Week Challenge where we create a new piece of art every week for a year. I partnered with Sony Alpha Female to bring it to us for free. I'm releasing weekly themes, a monthly exclusive video, and sharing feedback with community members who participate.
Your natural reaction might be: I can't commit for a whole year. I can already think of weeks I won't be able to do this.
Or, you might think: I can't compete with others doing the same challenge.
Or even: If I can't do this perfectly, I'd rather not do it.
I'm just here to say: Those are the excuses that hold us back from doing anything at all. When we get to the ends of our lives, we'll either look back at the art we made with pride, or look back at the art we didn't make with regret.
I refuse to live in regret.

The Columbines are beginning to bloom in my yard. This is the start of the season for me. The vivid colors and the softness of this beautiful flower marks another season on this farm. Columbines are one of my favorites, they last for such a short time and they are so unusual, it is worth the little space they take in the flower bed.
Thanks for any comments you might leave and for just looking today.

It was Sunday Morning. And Prabhakaran and I met as usual at 4.45 am and started to drive along East Coast Road. This time we decided to try a different spot for dawn to try and capture a different angle of light.
As we were driving, I was reflecting on why I was so happy taking these photographs each weekend. I have been a photographer for many years now, but never have I been more happier in doing so. Before I could not find an answer, our first destination arrived and I forgot about this issue.
The fishermen in India are very hard workers. They wake up very early in the morning and go out to fish in ther tiny catamarans, battling the seas. Often they return before dawn, so that they can start selling the goods immediately.
It was still dark when I found this man sitting on his boat. He had already brought back his catch and sent it to his wife who was sorting it out to sell it. I curiously asked him why he was sitting there looking into the horizon. He just smiled.
I changed my lens in my camera to a wide angle and composed the frame in this manner, only to realize that it was beginning to dawn. I stayed there and clicked a few shots. Here is one of my favorite.
The man then told me, "Now, do you I understand. I was waiting for the beginning of dawn. It is the most beautiful moment. For us fishermen, the sun is our friend."
Then it hit me. The reason I am enjoying my photography so much these days is not just because of photography as such. But it is because of the beginning of a new friendship with a guy who is as crazy as me as far as taking pictures goes. Thank you Prabhakaran, for being my friend.
Photographed with a Leica M8 Rangefinder Camera and Vögtlander Super Heliar 15mm F4.5 lens. Handheld. Color Balancing done using Aperture 2.1.3
The EXIF data won't reflect the lens information completely. This is mainly because being a third party produc, Vöigtlander lens do not have the 6 bit coding that is needed by the Leica M8 to read the lens info.

On December 7, 1941, the Empire of Japan attacked the United States Pacific Fleet at its anchorage in Pearl Harbor propelling the United States into World War II. Among the ships lost that day was USS Arizona (BB-39) whose white monument spans the wreck that is the grave of over one thousand United States Sailors and Marines.
Behind the USS Arizona Memorial is USS Missouri (BB-63). This ship, commissioned June 11, 1944 was the site of the surrender of the Japanese in Tokyo Harbor on September 2, 1945. It is now a museum.
As dusk slowly approaches, it feels like I'm standing at the beginning of something great and exciting.
