These beautiful falls are little known and are in a lovely setting that brings you back into tune with the natural world. Situated in Grey County, about 1.5-2 hours north of Toronto, an area with many trails, beautiful lakes, more waterfalls, gorgeous landscapes, sweet little towns, forests of maple trees (and locally produced syrup) and plenty of opportunities for photography.

LOCATION: Grey County, Southern Ontario, CANADA. Halfway between Flesherton and Eugenia, the falls are at the beginning of an easy trail, only 5 minutes from parking. Take proper footwear to climb down to the lower level of the falls.

EQUIPMENT: Canon 5DII, Canon 16-35mm f2.8L lens, 2 stacked Hoya ND filters, Manfrotto tripod.

EXPOSURE: 20sec - f/19 - 100ISO.

Children wait eagerly for the start of the Tot Trot at the 2022 Des Moines Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning.

Presidential inauguration is today for those of you outside the USA. So it's a new beginning for the country, and a new season kicks off in my mind at least with the blossoming of our flowering quince. We have 2 tall (my height) pink quince shrubs as well as some newer, red ones - and they all survived the drought. Today will be our 9th January day >= 70o here in Atlanta - and that's got the buds opening a bit early. Winter isn't done with us yet - and this puts the buds & blooms at risk if we get hard frosts.

A lot of prayers led to this day ... here's hoping for a year of God's favor and prosperity for everyone! Happy Inauguration Friday!

NHL training camps are starting up and so is local hockey. This was JJ's first game 3 years ago. I've always liked this photo but never got around to posting it, but the beginning of another season seems to me like the right time. I like the triangular shape with JJ at the apex, a white sweater against the reds.

Happy Monday everyone! ^__^

Now I also have new beginnings in my life. I have the results of my tests, and the possibility of celiac disease is very present. So I begin now to work very hard to eliminate gluten from my diet. It will be a constant reading of labels and eliminating a vast amount of foods from my diet.

Beautiful roses on the verge of blooming into their full-grown beauty.

I liked the deep tones and edge of darkness to this shot, darkly beautiful!

These were in a gorgeous flower bed on the lawn of one of my neighbors across the street.

After the crowds had gone their way, I stayed at the summit of Haleakala for a bit. I marveled on how the clouds sat in the lower elevation, like a floor of sorts. Using a Lee 0.9 Soft Grad I was able to capture the sun direct, and in turn at F16 was able to get the star effect.

Lens challenge...woods with a 75mm 1.8 (actually 150mm equivalent)....not easy

The Danaus Chrysippus, also known as the Plain Tiger or African Monarch, is a medium-sized, butterfly widespread in Asia and Africa. It has a wingspan of about 7-8 centimetres. The body is black with many white spots. The wings are tawny, the upper side brighter and richer than the underside. Incidentally the plain tiger is believed to be one of the first butterflies to be used in art. A 3500-year-old Egyptian fresco in Luxor features the oldest illustration of this species.

The old saying "the early bird catches the worm" often rings true for me...especially on days like this. Love this time of the year!

It seems I'm beginning to run out of content to upload to Flickr...I've been rather busy with life and haven't been able to work on photography as much as I'd like. This photo is of a sunset from over the summer. I uploaded a panorama of this sunset in late 2014. This shot is from a different time, showcasing the beauty in the constant change in nature. The panorama will be linked below, in case anyone would like to see.

New Beginning

maybe we can grow old together

and we'll start from beginning again

one life's not enough to adore you

we'll fall in love over again

and again

again and again

again and again

again

One could probably say "endings are beginnings" as well.

Captured this beautiful sunrise this morning after dropping the kids at school. It made me think of all that has been going on and the things we take for granted. No matter what happens, every day is a new beginning, always remember that.

Its beginning to look a lot like winter

This large pond is on a friend's property in this valley, just to the north-west of Brisbane. The Samford Valley is a large rural residential and farming region, stretching west to the D'Aguilar mountain range.

Tomorrow marks the official end of winter here in Australia. Over the last few months colourful sunrises and sunsets have been rare. Hopefully, this mornings sunrise is the start of something special. The Hunter River, Morpeth New South Wales. Australia.
