After a sunrise, I had this beautiful view of the Alps. The light was glorious. I was on the Kienberg. From there you have a fantastic view of the country.

The Beautiful Mess that is the world right now...we don't know quite where to draw our attention with the constant news cycle and sense of pain and suffering all around. It's difficult to focus on the beauty of things and the way the light comes through when you are consumed with it. Joy is an act of resistance indeed!
I watched Le Havre by Aki Kaurismäki last night (one of my very favorite directors) and I became a little more hopeful about people even though it's not a documentary. On Criterion Channel and highly recommended.

Beautiful Brood Parasite - a male Brown-headed Cowbird in my yard in Chester County, PA.
Many dislike them because of their breeding behavior, but to me their shiny brown heads against their iridescent blue-green bodies are very beautiful.

Low-tide and good light help show the beauty of the Cape Elizabeth coastline in Maine, October, 2021. While all were focused on the iconic Portland Head Light, I liked this look down the Atlantic coast to its south. The hues of these rocks drew my eye the entire time we were visiting coastal Maine.
