Got the Beautiful Flowers set recently and used it to do some paper piecing/fussy cutting. I'm adding this to the current SSS flickr challenge of anything goes. I stamped the full floral image on some patterned paper from the Prima Zella Teal collection with VersaFine CLAIR ink in Morning Mist and then trimmed it out. I stamped the three separate flower images from the set on a coordinating pattern from the same collection and trimmed them out. A third piece was trimmed to fit a card front and adhered. I adhered the flowers to the floral image with the center one popped up with foam tape. The piece was then placed on the card front so that I could figure out where to stamp the sentiment and then stamped the sentiment with the Morning Mist ink. Finally I adhered the floral piece to the card front with foam tape and then added some sequins.
Adding this to the SSS Wednesday challenge of anything goes, too.

Today when I went outside to hang Lane's paintings to dry, the wind blew this beautiful dried flower towards my feet. I picked it up and was amazed at how beautifully weather this flower had become, and still in one piece.

This was taken in the Yellow Room at Old Marylebone Town Hall in Westminster, where Sarah got married.
Although the room was small, it had nice large windows to get some nice natural light shots...
I used my wide angle lens for this. I actually bought the lens for landscape and cityscape photography, I never thought it would come in handy for weddings and portraits, but it is a great lens. Especially in small rooms like this one, where you are trying to get everything and everybody in the frame.

"Are we running towards death?"
Beautiful Thieves has baffled me for a while now but I think I have it in my head. In my head the song is the ability of celebrity to steal the hearts of the adoring, getting away unnoticed because the idea of losing one's heart to someone never known is laughed at. Those in spotlight are masked as performers and still achieve this. They can get away with things others can't, like this, or running red lights. How far can this be pushed? To the point of killing? Is it just a downward spiral of power that will quickly lead to death? And if so, is it worth it? Death has reared its head before and this person understands it and appears to choose it. Going out in flaming glory that will solidify their lifestyle on the covers of magazines. The song ends, to me, by asking the listener who will encourage this, and who will flee.
My image was alot more based off what I felt when I heard the song than the precise lyric. Firstly yes, Death is a woman. I am aware the words speak of "him" but she feels right and Death has no gender. She is beckoning, challenging the viewer to draw nearer. The thieves are behind her, running towards her, the man with his arm stretched longingly out. The thieves have blank, masked faces so we get no expression, we don't really know how they feel just getting hints from their bodies. They are in matching attire to be well-dressed, prepared to make a good impression on the life-taker. Death is also wearing a mask, tie and collar as if as an attempt to disguise itself...and not working. It's obvious this is the end for the thieves, like an act like taking a life will result in. Finally, all their hair is flaming, bright, enthralling and spectacular to draw adoring eyes. All three subjects crave this attention. And like the flame, the attention will eventually die and nothing will remain but the memory.
Confusing I know, I'm sorry. I hope it's like, I really like the image. I makes sense in my head.
