Cederberg Mountain fires - December 2016

Like two valves of a heart, pulsing, beating in conjunction with one another.

Beating a hasty path up and away after a very close call that almost brought him down on top of me!

Here's a Yellowstone coyote trotting across a frozen pond toward a bison carcass last fall. It's crazy hot here in Murray, Kentucky and the snow is looking awfully good to me right now. Sadly it's also massively flooding in Yellowstone closing the whole park and doing devastating damage to the infrastructure. Really hoping the damage isn't as bad as it's looking from the sky right now, but the realist in me doesn't see how it could be. Praying for the safety of everyone involved and for the economic recovery the area is going to need after losing even more tourism.

It snowed in Beijing today. This guy is 65 years old, and hired to beat the snow from the trees with a stick...I'm not entirely sure why. Perhaps snow is considered too bourgeois.

My app was telling me all weekend that I had "a 0% chance of seeing the northern lights in [my] current location." It was wrong every night.

I used the liquify filter in Photoshop on the background, and accented edges on the Foster's building, which is on another layer so it wouldn't "melt".

There's something beating here inside my body

And it's called a heart

You know how easy it is

To tear it apart

If I lend it to you

Will you keep it safe for me

I'll lend it to you

If you treat it tenderly

There's something beating here inside my body

And it's called a heart

There's a sun shining in the sky

But that's not the reason why

I'm feeling warm inside

The answer isn't classified, it's my heart

From the moment I started

I tried to be goodhearted

Yes I tried my best

And more or less

I spoke from my heart

There's a lot to be learnt

And you learn when you heart gets burnt

Hearts could never be owned

Hearts only come on loan

If I want it back

I will take it back, I'll take my heart

But I will try my best and more or less

I will speak from my heart

Yes I will speak from my heart

Speak from my heart

Canadian National Railway [CN] GE ET44AC 4,400 hp unit 3038 was leading a block train of over 100 bogie tanks when recorded heading westbound near Savona BC. The tanks carried UN 1267 plates denoting petroleum crude oil, hence the barrier wagon. I had set up for a different shot but the passing cumulus was about to take the sun, so it was zoom time to beat the cloud.

And if I stand weakened, my heart beating against the string of clouds,... may you come find me.

The keys in the ignition dangle in a light breeze. The girls have crammed the camper among some abandoned cars to hide their presence and hold each other while there's still time. Felicia tries to muffle the screams from Dylain's ears so she can get some rest, at least one of them can sleep... it's going to be a rough night.

Benni has to go out BEFORE 7 a.m. this week to have it cool enough to run. So we just go to our neighborhood park and hope we have it all to ourselves.

The days are close to 100 F., nights cooling down to high 70's. Thank heavens for A.C.

...Wanna hear your beating heart tonight

Before the bleeding sun comes alive

I want to make the best of what is left, hold tight

And hear my beating heart one last time

I can't face this now everything has changed

I just wanna be by your side, here's hoping we collide

Here's hoping we collide

Here's hoping we collide...

ODC - 8/20/2017 - Beat

Surrounding me is all the life that God created in his love.

It calls to me in every heartbeat and in every breath,

in every action and in every thought.

Peace fills my heart, and floods my body with the purpose of forgiveness.

Now my mind is healed.

Each heartbeat brings me peace,

each breath infuse me with strength.

Sustain by God's love, and held forever quiet and at peace within his loving arms.

Each heartbeat calls his name, and everyone is answered by his voice.

Let me attend your answer, not my own.

Father, my heart is beating in the peace the heart of love created.

It is there and only there that I can be at home.

Foundation for inner peace.

A Course in Miracles.
