In The Ten years I have been photographing and going to Wakodahatcheee I never saw an white ibis with nesting material. I have seen just about every other species here in Florida but not the white ibis. I was thrilled to see and capture this.
Wishing you awesome, beautiful and blessed day !!!!
Albeit short lived a storm rolled in from nowhere at the Weekend and my garden took a pounding.
The rain was mostly light at first but then without warning it literally went three gears up and started coming down in bullet form. So I took down the SS from 1/500 to 1/200 and used the flash to capture it, one of the things that was on my side was the fact the rain was so heavy and persistent that it was constantly impacting off my flowers so a degree where I could get this moment caught convincingly enough.
The raindrops were pretty much exploding on impact and I was lucky to hit the button just as this one did just that. I really love nature, so much diversity!
Here's to another week ahead and hope you're all well, so as always, thank you! :)

===When you're low
And your knees can't rise
You feel helpless
And you're looking to the sky
Some people would say
To accept their fate
Well, if this is fate
Then we'll find a way to cheat
'Cause, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh we'll say a little prayer
But, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh if the answer isn't fair
You know you can call on me
When you need somebody
You know you can call on me
When you can't stop the tears from falling down, down, down
You know you can call on me
Call on me, darling
You know you can call on me
Call on me, darling (call on me)
When you're weary
And the road is dark
And I'll guide you
With the beating of my heart
And if the cavalry
And the help don't come
Well, then we'll find a way
To dodge a smoking gun
'Cause, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh we'll say a little prayer
But, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh if the answer isn't fair (then call on me)
You know you can call on me
When you need somebody
You know you can call on me
When you can't stop the tears from falling down, down, down
You know you can call on me
Call on me, darling
You know you can call on me
Call on me, darling (call on me)
When you're, you need someone (just call on me)
You need somebody to cling to (call on me)
When you're, you need someone (just call on me)
You need somebody to dry your tears
When you're, you need someone (you can call me)
You need somebody to cling to (just call on me)
Just call on me, love (just call on me)
Just call on me, love (call on me)
Just call on me, love (just call on me)
Just call on me, love (call on me)
Just call on me, love, on me===

And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about. -

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo💜💜
Breathing you in, feeling your skin, your touch
Yeah, I can feel your heartbeat beating like a kick drum
And you got me spinning, going crazy
In the middle of the crowd
But I can't take my eyes off you
With the way you move
I'm gonna pay that DJ so he keeps on playing your song
Go, go, go, baby steal that show
I'm gonna get you whatever you need to keep the night on
You got that runaway look
You shine like Hollywood
Camera, action, you're the star tonight
Girl, you got the spotlight light yeah (got the spotlight)
Girl, you got the spotlight light yeah (got the spotlight)
turn your magic on, to me she'd say
everything you want's a dream away
we are legends, every day
that's what she told him
I feel my heart beating
I feel my heart beneath my skin
I feel my heart beating
oh, you make me feel
like I'm alive again
alive again
oh, you make me feel
like I'm alive again
woo hoo (woo hoo)
said I can't go on, not in this way
I'm a dream, I die by light of day
gonna hold up half the sky and say
only I own me

The mercury is rising and the grass isn't faring too well! Luckily a few daisies are thriving in the heat though.
I took this photo of my mate a couple of days ago at sunrise on some of my local grouse moors in the Peak District. He's less skittish than many other grouse and he was in his usual territory so I'm very sure it was him. He was a bit unsure of me at first but after a while he actually flew and landed just a few feet away as if to say 'Hi' - either that or he was telling me to get lost out of his patch!
Anyway, after four months of the shooting season, which ends next week (10th) it was good to see that he's still around as apparently, some 500,000 Red Grouse are shot each season.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving any comments or faves, they are very much appreciated.

hands finding hands,
hearts learning a rhythm they didn’t know they needed

Thinking out Loud - Ed Sheeran
When your legs don't work like they used to before
And I can't sweep you off of your feet
Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love
Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks
And darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70
And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Oh me I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am
So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are

TIME IN A BOTTLE by Jim Croce - 1973
WHEN DAYDREAMS AND DANDELION CLOCKS BLEW ON THE WIND
If time is a man-made concept,
does anything really exist
Is the passage of so many footsteps
as elusive to pin down as Scotch mist
I can remember my first sweet sixteen memory
when time still meant little or nothing
I was laying on a soft bed of green meadow grass
slightly damp still from fresh morning dew
Squinting into the hazy sunshine filled sky
and daydreaming lazily of you
the sun was warming my skin and my eyelashes
were blinking away the soft fall of teardrops of joy
memories were sweet and I felt complete
back then in the days before now
when daydreams and dandelion clocks blew on the wind
and twisted and turned back to me
when whispers of sweet nothings and the idleness of youth
captivated me and held back the fears
the best days of our lives were spent in that meadow
I recall every word that you said
we were seamlessly joined in our web of sweet love
and the passing of time never entered my head
Spring passed to Summer and only the seasons could tell
if time was a matter of moments, yet forever borne in our minds
the lemon scented flowers you placed in my hair
the precious caress of your hand
now imprinted and felt like a feather
barely tangible now on my face
yet I still close my eyes and remember those days
and I still feel the close proximity of you
and I wonder whether the gentleness of the love we felt back then
disappeared or was it caught within the depths of our minds
where time creates a mirage of memories to conjure up
whenever reality threatens to shatter our dreams …

View from Sebago Lake in Maine where my cousin Kathy and I spent much of our childhood with my aunt in their tiny one room cabin. Aunt Jane came here religiously every summer weekend, rain or shine, to escape a plumbing business she and my Uncle Arnold ran from their home. We girls played in the lake, ate Franco American spaghetti out of cans, watched the stars at night from a raft, and slept on the cabin floor. On rainy days we played monopoly from sunrise to sundown.
When my uncle died in his late 90s, he left an upscale home and this tiny "camp" to both Kathy and her brother. She turned over sole possession of the house and its 75 acres to Larry in exchange for the leaky roofed rustic cabin on 1/8 acre. We were both ecstatic when Larry took the bait. He would have unapologetically sold camp in a heartbeat.
In this crazy, whacked out hostile world of thoughtless destruction and endless gorilla chest-beating, we all need a place in our minds that serves as a sanctuary. This is mine.

A bit of a speculative shot this one. We were out on a long dog walk a long way from anywhere when down came the rain, yes we had boots on and underneath my coat I had my camera safely tucked away. We got a good soaking but as the rain eased I took this shot not really expecting very much ( I didn`t have my tripod or filters ) with me. After a little play in PS I came up with this, I love the line of trees here .The rain brought this song to mind Eric Clapton , The sky is crying www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN09OfzI_9o

When I took this shot into the sun I thought it wouldnt turn out at all and was expecting to delete it, but was somewhat suprised with how it turne dout, I know its nothing special, but for some reason I like it even though I am not sure why LOL
here sa quote perhaps relevant to this shot and to the disaster in the Gulf
“I have no doubt that we will be successful in harnessing the sun's energy... If sunbeams were weapons of war, we would have had solar energy centuries ago.”

Looking Glass Falls
Pisgah National Forest
Transylvania County, North Carolina
The last full day of the workshop my brother Ted and I had with Randy Sanger (Randall Sanger Photography) in late April began at Looking Glass Falls, not many miles from our Pisgah Inn base. Knowing the day was to be sunny and that the sun above the falls would make shooting difficult before late, we arrived about an hour after sunrise and got in about 50 minutes of shooting before the sun interfered. At first, other photographers were there, but soon we had the place to ourselves -- quite a break, as this waterfall is very popular. Kevin Adams (North Carolina Waterfalls, 3rd edition) says the waterfall is about 60 feet high and is at 2,360 feet elevation.
