This week's theme for Mosaic Montage Monday was Cement. Some moments in time balanced between the fixed heaviness of cement and the transitory lightness of blossoms. HMMM!
The clouds there behind this iconic rock in Utah caught my attention so stopped by to take some snaps under these pretty conditions.
If you are looking for rock formations that are unbelievable, this is the place to visit, Arches Nat'l Park, Moab, UT.
Such a wonderful morning that was there under the stars and moon as day was slowly getting its start there in Arches.
The causeway at Island Hill at the edge of Strangford Lough, County Down, Northern Ireland.
I like the way the light bounced off the concrete causeway here. Not the most balanced composition but I like it. That's Ronnie Mills in the distance - look him up here on Flickr!
One last photo of the Great Blue Heron performing its balancing act atop the Pine tree. It stayed about 5 minutes and finally got tired of the Red-winged Blackbirds buzzing it.

Taken for the group MacroMondays. Theme: #Balance
What does the word 'balance' mean to me ?
Defying gravity is how I see the word, but of course it has many meanings. For an idea for a macro it was a question of balancing some thing on some thing to defy gravity which was a real challenge as I discovered. I tried lots of different materials but settled on three glass nuggets balancing on top of each other. Trying to balance four glass nuggets proved impossible, gravity won every time! It was not as easy to do as I first thought, a question of patience on my part trying to find the exact spot to balance each nugget, keeping my cool and not breathing too hard and then lighting the scene required further patience but I'm pleased with the result!

Sedona, in addition to its red rock formations and the evergreen Coconino National Forest, is famous for its energy vortexes.
One vortex, located near the Boynton Canyon Trailhead, is considered to strengthen the yin/yang balance for a person. The Kachina Woman formation to the right of this unnamed butte is the point where the vortex is supposed to be strongest.
I don't know if the vortex improved our balance. We didn't visit the site until after our hike to the end of the Boynton Canyon Trail and back, by which point we were pretty tired. I can say that the entire Boynton Canyon area is beautiful - despite the addition of the Enchantment Resort - and, at the end of the day, my wife and I did feel better when we relaxed at the vortex site.
Balanced Rock est l'une des attractions les plus populaires du Parc national des Arches, situé en Utah, aux États-Unis. Balanced Rock est situé à côté de la route principale du parc, à environ 14,8 km à partir de l'entrée du parc.

On the first day of the new year I went to Santa Cruz, California, to enjoy the sunset at the Twin Lakes State Beach.
I processed a balanced, a photographic, and a paintery HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Several abandoned dwellings were constructed around enormous rocks along Highway 89A near Lee's Ferry, Arizona. I tried and failed to get information regarding the history of these odd structures.
