Here's Balanced Rock in Arches National Park, Utah. This is one of the first locations that I wanted to shoot on the 5th night of my tour of the southwest. Wayne and I arrived here at around 11:00 but didn't start shooting until around 1:00 due to cloud cover but that gave wayne and I some time to share some tips in lightroom and photoshop. I've seen thousands of photos of this location and was really in a quandary about how to compose this shot. I've always been a fan of filling the frame and due to the location of the MW this is the composition I ended up with.

If you have any questions about this photo or about photography in general, I will do my best to help, just post a comment or send me a Flickr mail and I will respond as quickly as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my photos and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great week everyone :)

I didn't set this up - just found it that way. I took this photo, and moved on. I wonder how long these rocks remained stacked?

As you probably realise balancing ball bearings is near on impossible but as they are steel they are also magnetic.I placed a strong magnet under a metal plate and then stacked the bearings. It still took a little time to get them balanced but it was a better result than trying to stick them together.

Here is a little more original take of this iconic location there in Utah with the sunburst and my younger daughter and her boyfriend there next to the rocky structure. They give a real sense of scale of Balanced Rock.
