I'm not much of a Technic builder and generally don't like the aesthetic of all the open beams. This build involved more Technic parts than most that I've done, and I've tried to give it a more realistic look. I haven't quite succeeded on the front of the loader, but I am very happy with how the rear looks.

JCB 3C and Massey Ferguson 50B working on the refurbishment of the petrol station at 574-590 Fishponds Road in Bristol. The filling station was transferring from BP to Esso. It would later be taken over by Save Retail before closing in 2003 and becoming a Suzuki car sales site. The Pot Black snooker club above the JCB is still going strong today. Taken in September 1983.
This Backhoe Loader, after an illustrious military career, is showing it's stuff for Big Gunn Salvage & Demolition now.
Developed specially for the US Army for deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan, the HMEE can support fast moving, long range operations without the need of a trailer.
The HMEE has a wide array of attachments and the vehicle can be fitted with an armored cab, which provides protection against small arms fire, artillery shell splinters, landmines and IEDs.

Caterpillar backhoe loader has always been on my to do list, as it is quite similar machine to tractors. Biggest challenge was to find the proper element for the rear mudguards and when I finally found it rest of a model was a piece of cake. Hope you like it!

The front bucket can be raised and lowered as well as tilted, and the excavator arm on the back is moveable. It's not really a toy, though, as it's quite fragile. The cabin does seat a minifgure, although it's very hard to see inside.

Oxford Diecast 1/76 - 763CX001 - JCB 3CX Eco Backhoe Loader
Think of a digger and this is probably what comes to mind, the latest version of the famous JCB 3CX, excellently modelled by Oxford. It is quite a feat of miniature engineering with the full range of movement at both ends just like the real thing, Oddly though, Oxford put all the movements into the front forks and then glued them in the stowed position folded on top of the bucket so I had to unstick them.
Before they can create a traffic nightmare and a big mess, they've got to ensure they all the right tools and material to get the job done... eventually.

You're quite right! I could have shot in RAW, or carried a "real" camera. Either or both would have shown this scene to be better than you see here. I have my reasons. One, I've driven a long way to get here. Two, some of this terrain will be knew to me. Three, I'm trying to travel light; once fast and light, now just light because I'm no longer fast. Four, and last of all, I'm here to discover and explore in the absence of deep knowledge of what there'll be to photograph.
My device is my camera and my GPS navigation device. I've plotted a path from one known landmark to one not yet visited. I'll follow what on satellite photos is an evident firetrail. I'm disinclined to bush bash much these days.
Buried in the noise and to the left there's a rabbit wire and star picket fence. That's aligned on the border with NSW. There's a hint to how remote is this spot. That sinuous track says "follow me".
The glorious silence of the mountains is disturbed by a low hum; sounding like machinery working. Tracks in the soft ground are not what I'd have preferred. It's hard to see. Half way towards the hill there's a roadworks sign — tipped over and token on this side of a locked gate. I haven't driven this far for a change of plans; so off we go!
Half way up a Caterpillar 434 backhoe loader came rocketing down the hill. The operator stopped, mumbled something without turning off his clattering diesel; then drove off. I didn't understand a word of it. Coming a little further behind him was a Mack tipper. They are, it seems doing some firetrail maintenance — that's no bad thing unless it's facilitating access to this remote valley by the red-neck cross-border mob; a likely prospect. The driver just waved. I wouldn't have even scratched the chrome, and with that backhoe handy, who would ever know?
Taking my cue from the track; I followed it!
Well, not every corner, you've got to mix 'em in with your snowmen, reindeer, angels, toy soldiers, toy trains, oversize presents, Xmas trees, and teddy bears.
It's more art than science.

In order to mark JCB's 70th anniversary, a limited number of'Platinum Edition' 3CX backhoe loaders have rolled off the production lines at JCB's World Headquarters at Rocester, Staffordshire in striking livery last seen more than 40 years ago on the JCB 3C III model.
The special anniversary machine also comes fitted with a fully air conditioned cab, a heated seat and a built in coffee machine. The machine is powered by JCB’s 109hp Ecomax engine complete with autoshift torquelock transmission, enabling a top road speed of 40KPH. The EcoMax engine offers impressive power, but also reduces the amount of emissions into the atmosphere.

11 year old JCB 3C in a yard on Feeder Road, Bristol, during June 1983. Today, the yard is Portakabin's hire & visitor centre.
Why is the color "medium azure"? The "medium azure" will be the color scheme for my construction theme. It's striking and different.
This model is inspired by the "Fendt tractor" model. Seen it's documentary of fracturing inspires me to build this. This will only fit one Minifigure. The loader and bucket do have articulation. Manage to fix in the hydraulic parts but not as realistic as the real model. I decided to custom build the loader and the bucket as well. It will look better using the pre-made parts for that. For now, I just prefer this look.

Widely regarded as the one of the most popular machines by the Rocester-based company, the iconic JCB 3C Mark III Backhoe Loader was first introduced in February 1977.
When it was first launched, the JCB 3C Mark III machine represented the latest evolution of the popular 3C series.
It featured higher and more accessible cabs, further optional extras and, from 1978 onwards, the JCB Powertrain system was introduced, which was to become a significant feature in future machine-building generations for the multi-million pound company.
The 3C backhoe loader became a common sight on the road sides and building sites of Great Britain during the late 1970s and also helped to cement JCB’s growing presence in European markets during this important trading period for the company.
