Caterpillar backhoe loader has always been on my to do list, as it is quite similar machine to tractors. Biggest challenge was to find the proper element for the rear mudguards and when I finally found it rest of a model was a piece of cake. Hope you like it!

Why is the color "medium azure"? The "medium azure" will be the color scheme for my construction theme. It's striking and different.

This model is inspired by the "Fendt tractor" model. Seen it's documentary of fracturing inspires me to build this. This will only fit one Minifigure. The loader and bucket do have articulation. Manage to fix in the hydraulic parts but not as realistic as the real model. I decided to custom build the loader and the bucket as well. It will look better using the pre-made parts for that. For now, I just prefer this look.

La produzione di terne articolate con trasmissione idrostatica iniziò all'inizio degli anni 80 e continuò con il marchio Komatsu. Il tipo 585 era tra i modelli più grossi.

The production of articulated backhoe loader started on the early '80 then continued with Komatsu. Type 585 was a medium/big model.

Thanks to Mr. Nilo. He gave me the ability to shoot this photo.

A whopping 14 years ago, I built a 1/22 scale JCB backhoe loader. Over the years, I updated it a bit, but it is mostly unchanged. Here it is together with my much newer minifigure scale model of essentially the same vehicle.

I very much enjoyed building my tractors (one of which is visible in the background) and after finishing them, on a whim, decided to build a similar vehicle: a JCB backhoe loader. This is a work-in-progress photo I took a week-and-a-half ago. As usual, I started with what I figured would be the hardest part to get right, which in this case is the operator's cab. Pictures of the definitive model will follow on the weekend.

Built for a building demolition module in a City diorama.

The backhoe cannot be rotated as there will never be a need for it. The model was built exclusively for the demolition scene and nothing else.

When I started building my Scania truck a few months ago, I decided that I was going to build some sort of construction vehicle as its load.

Then, along came this month's LUGNuts' challenge is called 'snowed in'. I figured that sometimes you need something big to dig you out of the white stuff!

It has been detailed.

In March I hope to attend a model day in Ede in the Netherlands, joining other members of LowLUG (a Dutch LEGO Users Group). The models on display, including our LEGO models, are supposed to be trucks and construction vehicles. I already have a few of those, but felt it would be fun to have something new as well. After some deliberations I decided that I want a truck with a step-frame trailer and some sort of construction vehicle as a load -most likely a backhoe loader.

This is obviously the tractor for the whole thing. When I was building my Scania recovery truck about half a year ago, I realised that I'd constructed the cab such that I could use its design as the basis for a more standard-looking Scania (with a grey grille) without too much difficulty and that is what I am doing for this. Unlike the recovery truck, however, the cab on this truck can be tilted.

I am specifically going for a far less elaborately decorated truck than most of the others I've built so far. This is supposed to be a workhorse. To make it interesting I decided to add a crane behind the cab. This is not an uncommon feature on trucks like this. The truck also has working flashing lights on top of the cab, using LEGO's old 9V Light & Sound system. The battery box is built into the back of the cab.

The truck is nearly done. I am waiting for a bricklink order to arrive that includes a crane boom in black, need to add a few details to the engine and intend to make a few small stickers. I am also still considering adding a narrow stripe to the side of the cab, but that's as far as decoration will go.

After that it'll be time for the trailer.

Here’s one that’ll rule the land. It’s the 590 Super N Construction King™ Backhoe Loader. At 20,532 lb., it’s one of the mightiest backhoes around. It delivers nearly 16,000 lb. of backhoe bucket force, nearly 13,700 lb. of loader breakout force, digs to a depth of almost 20 ft., and can lift more than 4,100 lb. on the back end.
