An update to one of my favourite childhood sets, the 6662 backhoe. The set is a great classic town vehicle, but with the newer larger scale vehicles, I felt it was in need of an update.

Inspired by the work of Pierre Normandin, Richard Brown, and Martin Jaspers

Thursday night I returned to Providence with bryanj87

and Macedo295 for some additional night shooting. We started at the Point St. Bridge and continued south from there. It was easy to manage the cold with enough layers but the wind posed quite a challenge. Camera shake and wind driven debris were quite common, changing lenses was not.

The cloud layer played a huge role during this sequence. The clouds were definitely a little thicker here than in the previous shot. This sequence was inspired by judyboy and efatzo.

Don't they look like miniatures? Assuredly they are not.

In the evening we went to the IJmuiden harbor to the west of Amsterdam and boarded our ferry - the Princess of Norway - operated by DFDS. They were still loading all manner of trucks, motorcycles, and even these cool orange backhoes! In the meantime, the tall ship Thalassa (which is based in Amsterdam) entered the harbor. Some days are just better than others.

A backhoe in the garden is rarely a good sign, and in this case it was signaling the neighborhood that we had to replace the 50 year old sewer pipe.

Seen from I-95 in Georgia. They always have different equipment on display here, looks great in the summer when the grass is bright green.

... the last of the pilings that supported the parking deck finally come out of the river.

I got lucky... I happened to be riding by in the morning before work.

People have told me that this final operation was delayed by high water and fast current conditions that made it impossible to safely operate this beast on the barge in the middle of the river.

I wanted to have some large tractor tyres and found the 42081 would be the cheapest set to get those. However, I'm not so keen on the original ZEUX, I then decided to turn it into something that i could like more. So here it comes the 42081 C-Model Backhoe Loader.

This excavator features a barge mounted backhoe and three adjustable stabilizer legs. The stabilizer wheels provide flotation when extended, and act as stabilizers when positioned under the boat. The excavator also uses its wheels to load itself on and off of a trailer, and to roll itself in and out of the water. No crane is needed for launching, retrieving or repositioning the excavator.

I am very happy to see this.

I think that's what this thing is called.

I know selective color is over used by now, but I thought it worked perfectly for this, because it's unfitting for a tractor to be sitting out like this.

Here is what we needed our railroad ties for. Today my hubby backfilled. You get the short video. The first one was 4 minutes. Next year I will be landscaping and we will build a deck on the upper level.
