The backdrop for this is based on Coconut Beach free windows 7backgrounds. The model was inserted in Photoshop using masking tools and blending.
While surfing Amazon the other day, I saw this 'standing towel rack' and thought...hmmm....
This one works GREAT holding a variety of sizes of doll backdrops (up to 24"). Not only does this protect them from wrinkles, but it gives me a sleeker storage option and easy access to the backdrops when photographing dolls.

Thought I would pass this on as it may be helpful for some. A very simple way to support a piece of paper as a seamless backdrop. This is pretty small using just A4 sized paper and card, though larger sizes could also be used. The support is just a sheet of A4 card folded in half, then at the base of the A shape, a small fold approx 1/2 inch/12mm which is used to staple, paperclip or tape to another sheet of card. then the seamless paper can just be attached with paperclips. With this method, the whole thing can be moved around and the angle changed without disturbing the item being photographed, unlike with a fixed installation. Works well inside something like a light tent and only takes a few minutes to put together.
I took this photograph slightly further down the hill from the shot of the Stagecoach Alexander PS-bodied Volvo titled "Long Climb to Penrhys - 1" both to avoid the tree and to open up the backdrop.
This was October 2012 and the first week that six Alexander Enviro300-bodied Scanias were in service from Stagecoach's Aberdare depot on Services 72/172 (Aberdare-Rhondda Valleys-Bridgend-Porthcawl), in place of the wonderful Alexander PS-bodied Volvos. Four (28637-9/42) had received branding for the services, but 28640 (illustrated) and 28641 were simply in corporate livery, and remain so.
She and her six sisters, with seven Pointer-bodied Darts from Porth depot, had spent the Summer operating for Cwmbran depot, enabling its 14 Alexander Dennis Enviro300s (27687-700) to be released for Olympic Games work. With the Games over and the Aberdare drivers type trained, they were now settling down to their new duties.
She is not far from the summit having made the long climb from Ystrad - the warning sign indicates a descent of 12% or just over 1 in 10 in old money - with the Rhondda Fawr towards Treorchy forming the backdrop.

Our Daily Challenge - Aug 9, 2015 - "Organized"
... fabrics - a project from last month that was definitely worth the effort.
The top bin contains my main backdrop fabrics - everything you typically see in my stream except the all-important black stretchy velvet, which is hanging behind them. These are my workhorse fabrics and the first half-dozen or so images in my recently compiled "Backdrops" Album: www.flickr.com/photos/bztraining/sets/72157655444000498. In the middle of the bin are the sheer, shiny, and sparkly fabrics that don't wrinkle.
Next bin down contains the solid-color crushed velvets. It's great fabric as it is cheap, wrinkle proof, washable, and comes in a variety of colors. I've used it for backdrops, table cloths, capes, Santa Sacks... etc.
Third down are the seasonal and specialty print fabrics. Things I really should use more often, but don't. Paw prints, snow flakes, Christmas ivy... etc.
Last are the vinyl and heavy suede/faux leather fabrics. They are generally more expensive, although I buy as remnants and on sale). I always have great hopes for them but ultimately chicken out when it comes to cutting into the fabric, and so there they sit. (sigh)
What's missing?
All the fleece fabrics (in a very large bin in the garage) and the heavy-weight animal prints (mid-sized bin in the my closet).

Bluestone National Scenic River
This fall season had a glorious beginning for us as we took a long weekend among the iconic West Virginia three rivers. Even though the colors had just started settling in, the mountains already painted a magnificent backdrop for the Bluestone River Valley.
