Shot at Backdrop Cove on Minimal's Lisbon Tram backdrop. When I saw this backdrop, I wanted to make a pose hanging off the handrail.
I often look for pictures online as models to make poses. I ran across a still of Gene Kelly hanging from a lamp post in Singing in the Rain and thought I would combine the ideas.

A Eurasian whimbrel (numenius phaeopus) was standing on a wall, in front of a mixture of shrubs and brightly coloured brickwork. This resulted in the backdrop bokeh comprising variations of texture, shape and colour. Photographed near Belle Mare. Mauritius.
Our lives contain many different backdrops at many different times. Here's one of my favorites--Jerry Garcia keeping eternal watch over the Haight-Ashbury district--even when folks are oblivious to him.

Whilst deliberating on the light at Stalker Iain and I both spotted the potential of this row of trees on a small island in Loch Laich. It was time to break out my 50-200mm and simplify the scene with the distant rocky hills across Loch Linnhe providing an impressive backdrop.
At the water’s edge with the kind of effortless poise only a wild creature can pull off. Its long neck curves in a quiet S‑shape, the sharp beak angled toward the still surface as if reading the water for secrets. The muted browns of the pond behind it create a soft, painterly backdrop, letting the bird’s blue‑gray plumage and dark crown stand out with understated elegance.
There’s a sense of discipline in the heron’s posture a hunter’s patience, a sentinel’s calm. The grassy patch beneath its feet adds a touch of texture, grounding the scene in a natural simplicity that feels both intimate and timeless. It’s a portrait of focus and quiet strength, captured in a moment where nothing moves except the faint ripple of water.
