A macro shot of a cicada. Not knowing any different, when we were kids we called them locusts. Whatever, they sing an unusual song in the summer months...

What could be better than the sound of a light rain in the morning?

The exoskeleton of a cicada after shedding. This is a macro shot using speedlights and photostacking...

Long winter shadows made me look like I have very long legs.

Female Northern Cardinal at my backyard feeder. She flew off after a dozen or so shots.

A beautiful day to shoot

A horse fly that I "pacified" in order to do a focus stacking experiment.

Likely had his/her fill already

We had a supermoon on January 1, 2018. We also had a cloud layer on Jan 1 and 2. When I got enough clear sky to shoot this, the moon was a little past "full". Maybe that helped show the craters. Glad to see the performance of the 300mm PF lens with a 1.4tc...

What was that???

The only photogenic thing in my backyard currently is this single red rose.

It might be my stupid dogs in the front of the property.

Not sure which Fritillary this is, but it was just outside my window this morning.

Running short on food supply...

Hoverfly on a beer bottle. I was at a friend's place with my camera. This hoverfly was walking around the mouth of a beer bottle, so I decided to take a few shots. This is the best one, the focus/brightness could be better - but the fly didn't stay long enough.
