We received out wood order of cut and split we are still waiting for one order that is all intact logs that GP and our son will be cutting up for the following winter. Right now this bush cord is all stacked so it can dry out for this upcoming winter season. I can sure feel the muscles in my body wishing we had a tub instead of just a shower here at Chez Plevna.

Our backyard flowers are finally coming to an end as the weather gets colder.

I love trees especially in fall. The colours their leaves turn, even if we did not have a camera in hand we can appreciate their beauty from the splendid sight we see.

Canon 1DS Mark III with Canon EF 70-200 f4L at f4 ISO 500 shot through the green leaves of our lilac bushes.

Still a few green ones on the vine. Hopefully they will ripen before the freezing weather next week. Never knew they had all the little hairs on the vine and tomato.

I hate the scenery now. It's all drab ugly brown with naked trees. Even the beautiful red and green sumacs are just sticks with the furry berry pods as a very drab dull red. The only beauty is, of course, the hoar frost that appears in the early morning.

I may not always have time to thank you all for your visits and comments but rest assured, that I do read them and am very appreciative that you took the time to pop by and see what I see here "North of 7" in Rural Eastern Ontario (North Frontenac Township) or, where ever else I might be with my camera now that I am retired and loving it.

Put the Lensbaby double glass optic in the Lensbaby Scout no aperture ring and put the macro filter 4x on the optic. All this was on the Canon EOS 1DS Mark III. It was pouring rain out this morning when I took this so had an umbrella over my shoulder and thought I would see what I could capture on a rainy day. Reszied and edited (Kodachrome preset and upped the exposure just a tad.) ISO was 100. in ON1 Photo Raw 2021.

Even on a rainy day there is something to photograph.

I was taking photos of the blooming hibiscus in the dying blue light of the day and I noticed the fountain. It is in a corner of our garden that was already very dark. It seemed to glow.

The beautiful autumn colours here in North Frontenac are starting to fade away. There are still some gorgeous reds that I saw this morning when we headed to out get a few groceries and things so I will head out tomorrow with my camera in hand. Taken today, at the back of our property. And yes, the sky was this gorgeous as you see it today.

Threw the nifty fifty on the Canon 1DS Mark III when I ventured out to see if the seed pods are ready to collect off of the Cleome.

Canon EOS 1DS Mark III with Canon EF 50mm f1.4 at f4 aperture priority ISO 100 and edited in ON1 Photo Raw 2021 by just increasing the exposure a tad and using the Kodachrome preset.

:Lilac Bush is in bloom. We don't get many on the row of lilacs but each year we seem to get a few more blooms.

Still staying close to home even though we have had both our "jabs". Ontario is now into the cusp of fourth wave so my flower is a willing subject to be photographed thus the reason you see it more these days. The yellow in the background is my little sunflower.

Canon 1DS Mark III with Lenbaby Scout and Sweet 35 optic. ISO was at 100 and the aperture was 4.0. Focused on the center of the flower grouping and I upped the exposure just a tad in ON1 Photo Raw 2021.

I figured I would try to get out and see if I could once again spot my little friend here but it was a tad bit cool when I was first out around 8 am when Mike first spotted him yesterday so I thought he may still be hunkered down somewhere warm.

Hopefully, the temperatures will rise a bit so I can once again try to catch my friend here coming into the feeder this time with my 105 prime lens versus my 150-500 to see if I can catch him a wee bit better.

It’s heavy sweater weather now. Our trees here in North Frontenac, Ontario Canada are mostly all bare now with the leaves all on the ground. Sigh. The leaves are habitats to many creatures so try to avoid raking them if at all possible. Google it if you don't believe me.

So now it is a matter of waiting for a new season to to arrive and here in Canada snow can arrive at any point in time really so I will just keep my fingers crossed that the snow stays away and that I can hold onto fall just a bit longer. We "live in the ditch" as our oldest daughter says (the house is down off the road) and one has to go down ten steps from the sidewalk to get to our door so winter means shoveling - an awful lot. I keep telling the public works manager (a friend) that the first six stairs belong to the township and they should be shoveling but alas, that falls on deaf ears.

Have a super awesome day where ever you are. Until next time!

Canon EOS 5D Mark II Canon EF 40 2.8 STM pancake lens aperture priority at f5.0 ISO 160, I use ON1 Photo Raw 2022 mainly now as Lightroom gets finickity most days and as I shoot in Raw format it's just as easy to import into ON1 to convert to a JPG for the web as it is for Lightroom.

This little one is not too keen on my camera getting to close. He scampered into a crook in the tree but I managed to grab a shot.

It's take out only at Squirrel's Snack Shack as there is still a stay at home order here in Ontario until June 2nd. and Yappy Yappola here does not want to risk getting fined by the Government for going against the orders.

I love these wildflowers that grow in our backyard. I wish they would cover the hill from the road to the house.

This is my trusted "wood stacking work glove". It is worse for wear but it still does me just fine to get our winter wood supply stacked with GP.

My dad hated flies. I think everyone does to be honest. But, they do make an interesting macro subject.

Canon EOS 1DS Mark III with a Sigma 105mm EX DG f2.8 lens on a tripod aperture priority, manual focus ISO 800 and at f7.1. I only took this one image, it is not stacked as I have not mastered that as yet. I did crop the image though in ON1 Photo Raw 2021.

My little friend here has another squirrel that likes to torment her while she is in her house in her tree. The other will sit on the top of the bird house that she has claimed here as her home (it has been empty of birds since we bought the house years back) or will run up one side and down the other. This poor gal is obviously a lover not a fighter so he hides in her house and will peep out to see if the coast is clear.

I was busy talking to her while taking her photo and she just popped out like this as if to say put the camera down and help me will you! LOL They really are such fun to watch and photograph. Since we are in the midst of a stay at home order unless for appts. necessities etc. here in Ontario and we are living through a global pandemic these little fellows seem to help pass the day now that we are retired.

I love these 1/2 alive and 1/2 dead leaves. Playing around with my 50mm Sony Macro lens. Really sharp.

GP grew these yellow tomatoes in the garden. They are sweet, they are juicy and they are great!

From my backyard. Could not decide which view I liked best.

My little friend here lets me get quite close so I threw the SIgma 105mm f2.8 macro lens on my Canon 5D Mark II to get a few shots - well okay well more than a few but I am retired and we are still at a stay at home order here in Ontario and with us only having had our first "jab" we are not venturing out too far from home.

Shooting some flowers in my backyard. Using my Sony A7RM4 with my 90mm Macro. Using my old Induro travel tripod with a Sirui ball head, What set up do you use?

We are still in stay at home order here in Ontario but Friday things are opening up. For now I am still just taking my "new to me" full frame out and about on our property to see what I can capture. Photography helps with the mind and takes away from the bizarre world we are now living in. Here's hoping that soon we will be returning to somewhat normal lives.

A red shouldered hawk was flying around our backyard this afternoon. I decided I'd see if I could capture a shot or two so I went inside and got my camera. When I came out with my camera I discovered that there were actually two of them. I thought it pretty cool that they were sharing the fence.

Thank you for visiting. As always, your comments, faves and invitations are always welcome.

I decided to put the Scout on my "new to me" Canon EOS 1DS Mark III and put the Edge 80 optic in at f5.6. The little hummingbirds are very skittish so you can't get too close so I figured I would crop it later in Lightroom Classic.

The weatherman in the Limestone City said we might have showers up this way this evening. I am thinking he may be right. Just as well that North Frontenac is not having fireworks in Ompah this year then between rain and bugs it won't be that nice.

I want to thank each and everyone for your comments and visits to my little space here on Flickr. I may not get to respond to all the comments, rest assured, I appreciate them all more than you know. Awards and invites aren't necessary.

When I see a maple leaf I automatically think of my country Canada. The red maple leaf is worn on the shoulder of our Canadian Forces members and, as a retired member that was worn proudly by myself for many years. The Maple Leaf is on our flag that flies on all government buildings, many businesses and homes (mine included).

Fall is fading fast here in North Frontenac and I hate to see the leaves fall off the trees as it means they too are getting ready to hunker down for winter that may or may not come with a vengeance - I am saying may in my mind as it is a reality it will arrive but hoping for the may not - the only saving grace is we retired in March so no more winter driving nearly 2 hours each way to get to work on a daily basis.

Have a super Saturday - or what is left of it.

Taken from our backyard-wanted to focus on the corn.

I wish we had more of these growing all over our property here. They are so pretty, coming in a variety of colours and of course they attract the butterflies and bees.

I put the Canon 135 vintage lens from my Canon FTB on the Canon EOS 1DS Mark III with an adapter and went out back early this morning to see what I could capture. I love the dreamy look that the vintage lens gives. I shot this wide open on the manual focus vintage lens. I focused on the five tall hay grass on the right and took the shot.
