Playing around in the yard with back-lighting.

Another one I captured in my backyard. I never knew they had those little claws on their toes.

I could not believe it when I went in our backyard this weekend the Hibiscus were blooming.

Taken in my sons backyard garden. I did not realize tomato pants had blooms.

A close up view of the pistils and stamen with pollen.

Anoter view of the late blooming Hibiscus in our garden. . Love how the pistils and stamen stand out.

I happened to walk by kitchen window and saw this turkey walking around in backyard looking for food. I had to photograph bird through the door window as I could not open door or he would have been gone in a flash. At least the window allowed me to get a few images.

Winder what the "hairs" do? As well why the tentacles? Evolution does strange things. My Sony A7RM4 really lets me crop and not lose detail.

Love this flower. Macro Monday.

Every time I look at these shots I see something new. Nature is amazing.

From my backyard. So pleasant to sit in the flowers, relax and take a few shots.

Backyard macro of one of our flowers about to open.

It's damp. It goes right through you. At least it is not snowing or freezing rain so that, in itself, is something to be thankful for on this, "American Thanksgiving" day. We here in Canada had our Thanksgiving last month.

I may not always have time to thank you all for your visits and comments but rest assured, that I do read them and am very appreciative that you took the time to pop by and see what I see here "North of 7" in Rural Eastern Ontario (North Frontenac Township) or, where ever else I might be with my camera now that I am retired and loving it.

Winter storm Landon,

Having some fun with my 90mm Macro in the backyard.

A macro of some old bells in the back yard. I have been off for a while but I am trying to make a comeback.

Well the reality of having cataract surgery is getting closer. I will know more come Tuesday when I meet with my ophthalmologist. I understand though, that I could be going to have my right eye done as early as mid Dec. It's the worst of the two. The idea of anything going into my eye makes me sick but, seeing a sunrise on a frosty morning from the house in the ditch takes over my feeling of my legs turning to rubber and tells me that if I don't have this done, well, I eventually might not get to see this beautiful sight of Saturday sunrise in the future. Have a super Saturday where ever you are!

Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a Sigma 105mm EX DG f2.8 macro lens that no longer will autofocus but still works great manual focusing. Aperture priority at 5.6 ISO 320 and edited in ON1 Photo Raw 2022.

Backyard shot of one of my favorite flowers, more to come. Really COOL when viewed LARGE.

As I was growing up my BFF's mother would spend hours crocheting doilies. They were so fine and intricate. Spider webs have always reminded me of doilies. They are so delicate looking yet so strong as to ensure that the spider's prey is captured.

It is a cold frosty day out there today here in Eastern Ontario. I threw the Sigma 150-500 on the Canon 5D Mark II to head out on my walk today while bundled up. The trees looking out back here at home have all but lost their beautiful colours so it was a no brainer to turn this photo black and white in ON1 Photo Raw 2022.

Canon EOS 1DS Mark III with a Lensbaby Scout and the Sweet 35 optic. ISO 100 and the aperture was set at f4. I upped the exposure a tad in the Flickr editor.

Taken the other day but the view is still the same. Today it was 14 Celsius!!

This year we have seen more mushrooms than usual and all are different within just a short walk. My adult kids find them gross. I think they are fascinating.

Have a super awesome day where ever you are in the world today!

I never knew they had so many scales.

I went out earlier this morning - here in eastern Ontario the weather is disgusting. We are expected to reach upwards of 40C with the humidex this afternoon and I am sure that around 10:00 am it was getting up there.

I put the Sigma 105mm lens on my Canon 5D Mark II and put the camera on my tripod. Set the aperture to f5.6 and the ISO was at 100. Edited in ON1 Photo Raw 2021 with the Kodachrome Preset and used the Dynamic Range effect as well.

Have a super day! If you are in Ontario stay hydrated my friends it is hot hot hot out there!

My little friend here was just watching the comings and goings of the birds at the feeder all the while keeping an eye on the squirrel snack shack at the same time. Those peanuts are not for the birds LOL

Our woodstove is smaller than the norm. Most cut wood comes in 16" lengths when you order it. Our regular supplier is no longer cutting wood but suggested that we contact his son. We forgot to let him know that we needed it in 14" pieces - we knew that his Dad was aware and we never had to worry. Our mistake to assume as the old saying goes never assume as it makes an ass out of u and me. So now GP has to cut a few inches off of much of the wood. We will end up using these pieces though - they will make a good "starter" when we light up the stove nonetheless.

I was out with the nifty fifty on the Canon EOS 1DS Mark III today and saw this gorgeous vibrant blue dragonfly (damselfly) on the leaf with black wings.

I had shot in aperture priority and got as close as I could without having her fly away and knowing that I could crop it.

Even at 5.6 this lens gives some nice bokeh. My lens has since stopped autofocusing therefore I have to manual focus everything with my trusty 105 macro lens.

Canon EOS 1DS Mark III with a Canon FD 28mm 3.5 vintage lens on an adapter for a DSLR. ISO set to 200 aperture set to f5.6.

I had not seen any red squirrels around for some time now. I figured they were all off doing whatever they do although the allure of food in the snack shack should have brought them around is my thinking. In any event my little "Fan Tail" friend here decided to grace us with her presence at the feeder in the tree.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a Canon EF 70-200 f4/L aperture priority at f9 ISO was set to auto so the camera picked 3200. Processed for the web in Lightroom Classic.

Our little apple tree seen here with just a few leaves on the top woke up to a frosty morning here North of Seven in Eastern Ontario.

These deer were in my backyard this morning. Yes, I do feed them VERY WELL...:)

He just sits there like this staring at the snack shack as if the peanuts are going to magically levitate out and drop in front of him.
