After two years of long expectation and longing... I'm coming back to Iran for three weeks... I'm coming home.
As I was born and raised in France, some may think that Iran is not my "home", and that I do not have the right to call myself an Iranian.
But I am Iranian, and proud to be. I may not know it as much as those who were raised there, but Iran is my homeland.
And I will the most excited of all when our plane will touch Iran's ground, when they will announce "Welcome to Tehran"...and when the doors will open... the wonderful air of "khaake Iran" (Iran's soil) will reach my nose, and its heat will caress my face. And I will lay my eyes on the beautiful mountains surrounding Tehran.
And feel home.
Carrying the weight of the world makes for a strong back.
An update of a shot I took for my 52 project a few years back - this time managed to construct a white background which I think makes for good contrast.

Rumblemumbles decided to come visit for 3 days and is jetting "home" again on the last flight getting in about midnight
She has not lost her touch and did an extraordinary job of squeezing in the maximum social activity humanly possible in 3 days.
I got to see her for the first time briefly on the 2nd day (about 10 mins) and that was because she needed the Tom Tom to navigate to yet another date.
This afternoon we all went for a ralaxing coffee at our favourite local.
It was lovely to see her again, and just to show she is now famous, when she was out at on the town last Friday, she was stopped by a guy who said "Hello Elisha, are you back" and it turned out to be a contact who recognised her from Flickr photos.

actually, today was day 3 for my kiddos in their new school. It's been another hard transition for them, mostly trying to figure out the new rules. It has been especially hard on my youngest, who is a bit shy, but quite a personality when you get her going. She cried when she came home the first two days. Today she said it was a little better. We're hopeful.

E71 brought me back to Ilford, and is seen complete with AL code! This was actually from its second employment as it was new to SW for the 24. This third chapter of its career sees it nominally allocated for school work at River Road, though appearances on routes such as this, 101 and 147 are common. 27.10.19.

i just got back from american iidol !
but this picture was before, like 8 this morning, ahha.
i look really weird.
we ended up having completely perfecttt timing !
we got to go to the little show that's before the actual live show,
called idol tonight,
and my sister is on tv a lot in that.
she was in the first row with all the little kids.
i could see like, my forehead on tv, ahha.
but at the actual show,
i was right next to simon in the little standing pit by the stage !
i was literally five feet from him,
and i got to boo in his face C:<
and i hugged and met paula,
she's not as retarded as she acts on tv, ahhaha
and i talked to anoop's parents, lool
really weird.
and michael sarver sounded a lot better live than he sounded watching it on tv.
and smoky robinson and joss stone were cool,
and stevie wonder was amazingg!!:D
it was fun :D
