Another Nightcliff sunrise. Same place as previous shot but just a few minutes earlier and looking easterly.
We had all flown back from Aswan that morning, except Shaban, our guide. We had said our goodbyes to him at the airport as he was flying home for a few days before his next job. Upon arriving back in Cairo another rep had met us and Vicky and I said goodbye to the rest of the group. Rather than spend the next 7 hours in an airport hotel bar and departure lounge as they were about to do, we had already decided and booked to stay an extra day and night back at the Crowne Plaza in West Cairo. This would give us an afternoon around the rooftop pool, a nice evening meal together and a chance for Vicky to visit two more Pyramids the next morning. These were out at Dharshur on the edge of the Western Desert, not far from Saqqara and hadn't been on the Jules Verne Itinerary. After a very intense 8 days this would be a nice way to unwind.
So this is the view of West Cairo from the rooftop pool. The concrete line across the middle of the photo is the new Monorail. Opening October 6th 2025, it wasn't yet half finished and it currently has no opening date. (HS2 Anyone?) Next to the GEM, it was the 'other' grand engineering project going on in Cairo at the time. 2 lines, The East and West Nile lines, 33 stations and 60 miles of track. When it is finished the views from it should be amazing and will be a fantastic way to see and get around the city.

I just returned from a business trip to Barcelona. I'll have a bunch of photos from Barcelona in the coming weeks. I have over 2,500 photos to go through.

It had been a while since I experienced snow in the winter. A recent trip to the Sierras brought back memories of snowy winters spent on the East Coast, helped me recharge my batteries and provided me a much needed chance to dust the cobwebs off of my cameras. The snow covered landscapes were such a joy! In this scene, shot with my DJI Mini 3 pro, I was drawn by the contrast of the white snow on the ground against the warm light of the setting sun shining on the tree tops on the side of the mountains
I am in need of repair. My back has gone out again. When I was a college freshman, I took a date to my spring formal. I don’t drink, but my date did and it was an open bar. One car wreck later, I had three crushed vertebra. Every so often, my back decides to remind me of a bad decision in 1973.... odc: in need of repair
After a mid summer break the veg express ran this week after a two week break ,57602 leads the 2C51 Exeter St Davids to Penzance passing through Starcross.

Very excited to go back in Japan next month, after almost 3 years.
My last visit was in March 2020, to Tokyo and Fujisan area, just when covid began to hit the country and my own city. That trip had to be cut short as my wife and I worried that the border of Hong Kong might be shut anytime and hence our flights being cancelled. What would have been a 5-day stay in Tokyo after returning from Kawaguchiko was adjusted to only 2 days. And this time we are going back to Tokyo with a day trip to Kawaguchiko (this, is somehow coincidental!). Japan has always had a special place in our heart.
And this, was taken in Tokyo back in 2016 when I was hitting town solo. Can't wait to be roaming about and photographing there again!

I'm excited to go back to Hawaii in about a week. I don't really know the islands that well, and I'm not sure where we're gonna stay. I have my man Hans Mast working on it pronto... we got to be friends when he came out to one of our NZ Photo Workshops. So he helps me out with travel and cryptocurrencies... he's like a wikipedia of both!
sometimes i'm not sure what's back there .... well, other than a bit of textures and a dash of orton ...

I just booked plane tickets back to Finnmark on Sunday ツ
This is from when I was there two months ago. It will be nice to see the beautiful scenery without all the snow, and with even more birds ツ

To contrary belief I am not dead. I simply took a large leave from simming. But, I am back and with that I bring my new sim (isn't she a lovely).
I would like to apologize to anyone I may have inconvenienced with my leaving, I know I was just beginning in one contest and towards the end of another and disappeared. For that I am deeply sorry. But I had some pretty difficult sh*t happen in my life in one consecutive block. And it took a large toll on all my hobbies, including simming. But I missed the community so much I decided to comeback.
Hopefully everyone still loves me and I am still welcome.
Been away for a few days enjoying a break in the sun. But missing my femme side. So it is lovely to be back home and here.

Hi friends.
Na twee weken Portugal ben ik weer veilig op Schiphol geland.
Helaas was dat met één stuk bagage minder dan toen ik vertrok.
In de tweede week, mijn tweede dag in Lissabon, is mijn complete fotorugzak met inhoud (waarde circa 4.500 euri) me op slinkse wijze afhandig gemaakt. Babbeltruc e.d. iets waarvan je altijd denkt "zoiets zal mij nooit overkomen". Wel dus.
Gelukkig had ik mijn kleine Canon s90 gewoon in mijn borstzak en had ik mijn eerste volle 8GB kaart van de 40D ergens anders bewaard.
Flink balen natuurlijk.
De boel was wel apart verzekerd maar heb je op zo'n moment niets aan natuurlijk.
Ik heb voorlopig allemaal zoveel te regelen dat ik voorlopig nog niet dagelijks hier te vinden zal zijn.
