The aurora bursts through the clouds in the night sky reflected in a small tributary below, deep in the wilderness of the Ogilvie Mountains, Yukon Territory.
What can I say? It's Yosemite; it's beautiful.
That's El Capitan on the left, and if you look center right you'll see Half Dome peeking out.

My first sunrise on Ameland, one of the Waddeneilanden (islands) in the north of the Netherlands. Ameland belongs to the province of Friesland. I've set the alarmclock for 3.30, and believe me...it was hard to get up! But boy, was it worth it! This is truly what I saw, I just did some minor adjustments in Camera RAW and some levels and contrast. No saturation at all. My camera whitebalance was on cloudy. Right in front on the floodline lies a jellyfish.
I have fallen in love with the island and hope to returm next year
Grota do Inferno - S. Miguel - Açores
The Grota do Inferno Viewpoint is one of the most amazing places I have been.
In my previous research about the island of São Miguel, often I came across with photos and descriptions of this place, but nothing had prepared me for what I saw and felt when I arrived here.
Accessible from the Canário Lagoon, we got here after climbing a narrow, steep trail where tiredness is soon supplanted by the beauty we face ahead of us ... Caldeira das Sete CIdades, the Blue, Green, Rasa and Santiago Lagoon's.
The initial idea was to capture this a little further on, but due to flow and high number of tourists, I was "forced" to backtrack a bit to mount the tripod and be able to make a quick capture of all 20 images.

Of the countless frolicking children competing for my attention, these two are just those whom you could not refuse. They may have little in life but are rich in energy and hope. Pure in spirit and boundless with charm, they appreciate their beach like no other.

Poem.
This placid, tranquil scene
feels dreamy, unreal, ethereal.
Mellow and warm.
Breathless.
Other-worldly.
And yet Loch Garry provides
a host of extensive and soothing panoramas.
The milky-grey sky and the sun breaking through
makes for a hazy blending
of water, sky, forest and mountain.
Absorb and relax.
Enjoy the ambience.
Let this local heaven work its magic on your being.
This place blows my mind....EVERY SINGLE TIME! I will never not love it. Banff, Alberta...behold Lady Nature's awesomeness. ;-) Did my best, with my humble knowledge in photography to do the place some justice with shooting it's incredible beauty.
When you do those things to me, it feels like you take my breath away, but in a bad kind of way. It´s like i am under water, and someone squeeze all the breath out of me, and i am losing the relation to what is real.
I’m going for a jog in the woods. wanna come?
nah. I already had my exercise for the day.
yeah? what was that?
well, let's see. I got up. went outside. had a smoke. walked down to the road. picked up the paper. walked back. had another smoke. and. . . that's about it.
impressive. be careful you don't overdo it.
I know. but I gotta feel the burn.
I'm sure you do.
Good morning my friends, here you see the Sunrise from the top Flamborough Headland. Decided to make the trip to the east coast of Yorkshire on Sunday morning. If i was to make Sunrise in time i needed to be up at 3 am in order to make the 2 hour jouney, and boy was it worth it. Made Flamborough head my 1st stop then after which onwards to the RSPB site at Bempton Cliffs. This was my reward, spectacular in my mind.!!

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. It was clear for all to see that this guy was struggling with his breath, gasping and bellowing his cheeks out as he too each breath. He was, however, walking so quickly I couldn't get his face in sharp focus and wonder if his breathing may have been eased by slowing down a little. Love the resulting shot and the story it conjures up though. Hope you are all having a great weekend.
"Life Is Not Measured By the Number of Breaths We Take, But By the Moments That Take Our Breath Away." Having this moment, this morning at sunrise, in absolute solitude and silence took my breath away.
