The Brazilica Festival is the largest celebration of Brazilian culture in the United Kingdom that has been held annually in Liverpool, England since July 2008. It is produced by the Liverpool Carnival Company, an organisation that has operated as a registered charity since 2007. The festival began during Liverpool's reign as European Capital of Culture in 2008 when a Rio-style Carnival Parade swept through the streets of the city. In its current format, the festival consists of a week-long celebration of Brazilian culture including music, art, food, film and dance events that take place at indoor venues across the city which build up to an outdoor city centre carnival street party that takes place in Williamson Square and samba carnival parade.
The Liverpool Samba School was set up by husband and wife creative team Roger and Maeve Morris in 1995. The school performed at the Rio Carnival in 2000 and wanted to bring a touch of the Carnival's magic to streets in their own city. In 2007, the creative team established the Liverpool Carnival Company with an aim of delivering a Carnival event the following year.

In the last two years I've spent almost 6 months on assignments for various magazines in Brazil. I've partied through carnival in Rio and worked on stories in the favelas. I shot assignments in Sao Paulo and Amazon and went on several long treks around the jungles of Rio state and Ilha Grande. Hope to get back soon!

I've never noticed this before, but there are several other players included in the artwork for the "Special Mission Brazil" team that aren't in the set! Namely Roadblock, Lowlight, Sci-Fi, and Lifeline. Wild! BeachHead and Hawk are also pictured, but unseen in this photo.
It might be cool to do "Brazil" customs of those characters. Hmm....

10th Motorcycle Meeting in Vinhedo.
Vinhedo is also known by it's grape and wine yearly festival, it's about 1 hour drive from São Paulo.
Other than the amazing motorcycles, other attractions were live Rock bands, Globe of Death and Wrestling show.

A typical Pantanal view. Above all, the Pantanal is cattle country. To get to the interior, one crosses farm after farm with thousands or tens of thousands of cattle (at a thousand euro each). Somehow the cattle and the wildlife have lived alongside each other successfully, already for many generations.

We have just built a house in our favorite place in the world, a beautiful small town 80 km from Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. It is a very special place for us where we got married 9 years ago. Living in Europe, it is great to come for Christmas and spend the holidays with a summer vibe.
