Poomba eat you heart out, look at the scars on this fellow, and tell me who's boss....

My lovely boy, boss - he is a typical dog, very devoted. He will walk around you & protect you (*well, my wishful thinking, maybe)

I chanced upon Boss Tweed the other day!

William Magear Tweed (April 3, 1823 – April 12, 1878), often erroneously referred to as William "Marcy" Tweed and widely known as "Boss" Tweed, was an American politician most notable for being the political boss of Tammany Hall, the Democratic Party's political machine that played a major role in the politics of 19th-century New York City and state. At the height of his influence, Tweed was the third-largest landowner in New York City, a director of the Erie Railroad, a director of the Tenth National Bank, a director of the New-York Printing Company, the proprietor of the Metropolitan Hotel,a significant stockholder in iron mines and gas companies, a board member of the Harlem Gas Light Company, a board member of the Third Avenue Railway Company, a board member of the Brooklyn Bridge Company, and the president of the Guardian Savings Bank. Tweed was convicted for stealing an amount estimated by an aldermen's committee in 1877 at between $25 million and $45 million from New York City taxpayers from political corruption, but later estimates ranged as high as $200 million. Unable to make bail, he escaped from jail once but was returned to custody. He died in the Ludlow Street Jail.

FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. -The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, or ESGR, held a Boss Lift event at Fort Indiantown Gap on May 7-8. The Boss Lift program provides opportunities for employers to learn the benefits and challenges involved with employing National Guard and reserve members. Participants toured several training areas and got some hands-on experience in vehicle and flight simulators. Attendees also enjoyed an aerial tour of the surrounding area from aboard a Chinook helicopter. ESGR's Boss Lift highlights the value and skills military personnel bring to their civilian jobs and expresses gratitude to employers for their continued support of the military and National Guard and reserve members in the work force. VIP Talent Connect CEO Alycia Kaback had the opportunity to meet with Buddy Valastro from the hit TV show on TLC “Cake Boss”

Cake Boss,” Buddy Valastro, who is himself the Carravaggio of cakes, the DaVinci of desserts — and as good an Italian-American role model as you’ll find on TV. Unlike other reality TV shows, which just show greed, dysfunction and, yes, criminality, “Cake Boss” shows art, family love and fun.

In case you are not yet one of its loyal fans, the show takes place in a bakery in Hoboken that turns out the most spectacular cakes this side of heaven. It’s a wonder to watch Buddy and his staff create cakes that fit what the customer wants — everything from buildings to bling, from garments to gardens.

Buddy, of course, is the cake boss, a man who has single-handedly made “fondant” a household word. (That’s the edible stuff they wrap around cakes, and with which they create shapes like flowers, shoes, you name it.)
