There is something special about old Mack B Models.

The island base doesn't look like much once the shipwreck is removed. I thought I could build a more interesting smaller outpost with those pieces to pair with the awesome pirate ship.

Includes a "working" crane, multiple cannon positions, a jail cell with a hidden gem, and discreet treasure chest storage.

Came across this nice old B model Mack today while out and about. Lousy angle, but it was as close as I could get.

Decided to have a muck about in Photoshop with this 32 Ford hot rod.

I couldn't get a good vantage point behind the auction line but you get the idea- 10' dump body. I like these "all business" B-models with their lack of chrome and special paint jobs. A real workhorse.

Sullivan's old truck No. 2, junked and thoroughly vandalized, Fall of 1992. A sad end to a once mighty and somewhat rare single-axle B-model. These B-70's were the heaviest of the standard hood models and were not often seen in municipal service.

I remember this truck on the road and it was always one of my favorites. I wish I taken pictures of it then!

In its final years during the early 1980's, it was designated to winter service only carrying Frink one-way and right side wing plows along with the frame mount sander seen here. The sander was NYS DOT surplus I believe. It had been out of active dump truck service for several years when it was removed from service in 1985.

That's my bike in the background as it was impossible to get the car down the road into the gravel bed.
