It's 1822 hours at Interlaken West, and BLS train 6732 is waiting for departure on the final leg of its trip from Spiez to Interlaken Ost. The BLS was formerly the Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon Railway, and is today owned jointly by the Swiss government and by the canton of Bern. Each of the 26 Swiss cantons are a semi-autonomous administrative unit of Switzerland, in what is officially a confederation of cantons.
The trainset is known as MUTZ, which is an acronym for the German designation Moderner Universeller Triebzug, which in English means "universal modern multiple-unit vehicle."
These trainsets are classified by BLS as RABe 515, and were manufactured by Stadler Rail starting in 2012. They produce 4,000 kilowatts of power from a 15 kV catenary line. They seat 235, and have a maximum speed of 160 km/h (roughly 100 mph).
Over on the next platform of this two-track station can be found the companion service in the opposite direction, also carded to depart at 1823 for Spiez.

The Re 4/4 of BLS was another successful series of locomotives built between 1969 and 1982. A total of 34 machines have been built. Initially also used for passenger services, you find them nowadays mainly in freight traffic as seen here. The two machines bring a RoLa train from Italy towards Basel.
The Cadillac BLS was a restyled version of the Saab 9-3, built in Sweden. It was introduced in 2006. Production of the BLS was stopped in 2009 due to poor sales. I wonder if more than 10,000 of these cars have been built.

Check out my fresh webpage/blog! The thing is still in the testing phaze, so some glitches may occur, but almost everything is working now.
