With little time today I wandered into the garden to enjoy the glorious sunshine for a few minutes and find a fly to photograph.
Happy FriYay and have a great weekend everyone.
Happy Fly Day Friday!
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die." - Roy Batty Blade Runner 1982 www.youtube.com/watch?v=HU7Ga7qTLDU

Blade tucked back in the mechanism so that you cannot touch it with fingers, frame is 1-3/8 inch square.
I'm a total sucker for the Blade Runner vibe, so you all get stuck with at least one more of these....

Macro Mondays 'wavy lines' theme.
After lots of dithering yesterday I settled on these scissor blades as an easy shot for the theme. It was much too hot to spend a long time setting up a photo.
The image measures 1.5" in width
The Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) is a member of the duck, goose, and swan family Anatidae. It is native to Africa south of the Sahara and the Nile Valley.
Miami, Florida, USA.
No post-processing done to photo. Nikon NEF (RAW) files available. NPP Straight Photography at noPhotoShopping.com
These blades come from an old Moulinex, a beautiful but slightly over-engineered contraption (in my opinion) for slicing, dicing, julienning vegetables etc, which I don't use but it's too lovely to throw out. For Macro Mondays theme "Contraption". HMM!
A single blade of grass sticking through the snow, basking in the glorious sunlight, at Harelaw Wood, a couple of weeks ago.

A macro view of electric hair clipper blades. The frame spans approximately 3mm across.
I was growing increasingly discontent with the haircuts I had been receiving. It had gotten to the point that I would come home after my hair appointments, pull out my shears, and touchup my hair to my liking. I finally made the decision to just cut my hair myself. That was twenty-five years ago; I have been cutting my own hair ever since. This is a macro view of the electric WAHL clippers I have been using since then.
Side note: The blurry line in the top blade had confounded me. It appeared in each of several alternate (yes–60+ focus stacked) shots. I surmise that it is from the oil lubrication on the blade.
Strobist/technical info:
The scene is a 64-image focus stack composite. It was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights, CL/CR, fired through 24" softboxes in Manual mode @ ⅛ power and triggered by PocketWizard Plus Xs.
Lens: Nikon CFI Plan 10X Infinity Achromat objective + Raynox DCM-250.
My car is so old....not quite ready to be called an antique. But with aging cars, always a good idea to keep a set of spare fuses around to keep the electronics happy.
Each fuse is about 1/2 inch across, 3/4 inch top to bottom (so with negative space, the photo is just under 3 inches across and about 2 inches top to bottom).
