Whilst exciting to see, this bird very soon flooded the internet beyond even biblical proportions. Such was the deluge of photos even Noah couldn't cope.
With this in mind I didn't post too many pics at the time. So with the excitement fully quelled here's one from the archives.

...if I'd known you were doing a photoshoot.
Complete with all the debris from her latest strike this beautiful lady treated me to several poses. Despite all my barnie pics this is one I have seldom achieved and certainly not close up.
I have a feeling my photo stream is going to be dominated by this young lady for some time.

An unusually obliging heron was the one I saw a few weeks ago. Normally these birds are gone before I can raise my camera.
So what a surprise to meet this amazing bird who wasn't in the least fazed by mine or anyone else's presence.

The short-tailed field vole, short-tailed vole, or simply field vole is a grey-brown vole, around 10 cm in length, with a short tail. It is one of the most common mammals in Europe.
This was the first opportunity I have had to photograph one away from the talons of an owl.
I was lucky enough to spot him on the track leading up from the beach. Fortunately he posed long enough for me before scurrying off, back under cover.

The Gannet is surely Bempton's signature bird. Looking every bit like something from prehistory. They are however a beautiful and elegant bird.
The northern gannet is the largest of the gannet family and native to the Atlantic Ocean.

Although on a deer park, rather than the wilds of Scotland, this master of the rut still cut an impressive sight.
It's early days yet, but he still had his work cut out fending off rivals including a few cheeky young chancers half his size.

The light last night was perfect and this beauty was out hunting.
She didn't seem concerned that the local kestrel her arch enemy was also hunting in the same area.
As it's sometime since I last visited I am guessing this is a new bird and she certainly seemed darker than her predecessor's.
