This little baby sweater was hanging on the yarn wall during the photo shoot; the pattern isn't in the book, but it is probaby my most popular designs that I created while at the store- such a simple little baby sweater!
Indiana Harbor Belt SW1500 number 9209 rests at Blue Island yard in October of 1984. This is the only unit I photographed in the classy, understated NYC-inspired scheme. The orange unit to the right displays the new paint being applied to the IHB fleet at the time.

I've changed her quite a bit from her original doll. First of all, I took off her cardigan. I personally love it, but I don't think it suits her personality. Then I took her hair out of its style. I couldn't stand the victory rolls, so after a lot of washing and experimenting, I put it in a high ponytail. and fluffed it up. Then I replaced her belt with an old charm bracelet. As much as I loved her original belt, it didn't sit right. Then I spent at least 20 minutes this morning posing her for this picture!

Helping to build a successful community is part of Wayne State's urban mission. Lending helpful hands to uplift those in need is a critical cornerstone.
From April 1-24, the Wayne State Athletics Department W Week Community Service Initiative, in partnership with Wayne Cares, and Covenant House Michigan, hosted a drive to collect small toiletry items to make basic needs bags for those in need in our community and for Covenant House Michigan's efforts to help young people in transition.
whipped this card up real quick in photoshop. Used my digital sources from Basic Grey. LOVE their stuff. Took the cheap route on Vistaprint.com so in about a month I'll have them. I'll post pics of the actual cards if they are worthy. :)

My oldest friend Pulapre Balakrishnan lives in Kozhikode & till recently taught at IIM Kozhikode. He has a property in Chathamangalam which has a 80 year old house that was in pretty bad shape. He happened to find the right architect, the right artisans, and went about restorinh it & bringing back the house to its former glory. The wood work lovingly scrubbed & polished, the old wooden hinges( on top of the heavy jackfruit wood doors) in perfect working condition, the floors redone with the familiar red oxide, the outside walls white washed, the bottom half of the outside walls coated with Japan Black to prevent termites.
I was blown away by the detail. A labour of love, and a perfect place for him to contemplate & complete his books, write, or just chill.
These are the basic colors of Kerala architecture. The only missing element is the dark wood, which I shall upload soon.
