Bryan Brant, of Pomona, walks his three dogs, two horses and mule across the intersection of Giant City Road and Route 13 Tuesday in Carbondale. Brant makes the trip to Carbondale once a month to gather food and basic supplies for his farm by Cedar Lake. The horses are Brant’s main form of transportation. “Grass is cheaper than gas,” Brant said. – Brooke Grace | Daily Egyptian
