It was so awesome to see this young Least Bittern today!! They were so far away so I used my crappy 7D2 to get closer. I was so happy to see the young ones that I really didn't care that they were that far away. We saw them pretty close in Texas earlier this year. Just great to see them successfully breeding
A baby Yellow-Bellied Marmot!!This little cutie appears to be a bit older and chubbier than his brother or sister. Photo taken in Spokane, Washington.

Early morning i found two baby swift. They are already fed, in 15-20 days they will be ready to fly.
This little one is only two days old here and is being fed a tidbit...a grub or an insect, I think. Cute or what? Apparently there were two eggs but only one chick made it. They'd blocked off the path at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary so the cranes would be undisturbed but there were two benches within shooting distance where all us photographers balanced, trying to photograph through the long grasses.
but not a Baby Chino because he's not a baby! We call it a "Kid Chino"... for him when we have our cappuccino.

This was hard to miss, given the commotion the babies made begging for food! If it had sat still and quiet, I probably would have overlooked it.
This is one of the fledgling Downy Woodpeckers that is now coming to the woodpile with it's parents. It and the other fledglings that are coming around are, for now, about half the lengthen of the parent Downy Woodpeckers. Notice the red patch on it's head indicating this one is a male.
