Most of Axe Valley's fleet is in red - either acquired in London red or painted red by the company - but LK58CNU is the ghostly white bus. It originally served in London with Metroline.

As a small piece of advice, wandering through public woods carrying a bottle of whisky (no matter how good) and a reasonably sized axe as a 6'5 beardy is not the most certain way to make friends.

At least, not the right sort of friends....

So finally it's Halloween tomorrow. Time for some creepy pictures . I wanted to make a less bloody pictures without Zombies this year, as Zombies seem to be everywhere right now. So I came up with this.

I used a 3 strobe setup this time and did some pseudo HDR processing (and of course a bunch of other stuff ;-))

I hope you like it. This one took a lot of planing.

Thanks a lot to my models. You nailed it!

In this spirit: Happy Halloween tomorrow! Enjoy the Party

Sadly, with the withdrawal of the commercial Stagecoach route 9A, buses between Seaton and Lyme Regis are far reduced and do not run at weekends. However, in the week, Axe Valley provide the 5-a-day route 378. With Lyme's Broad St shut, the buses unusually currently wait out of service in the western Holmbush car park. Optare Versa MX58KZF illustrates here.

Axe kick

An axe kick is characterized by the straightened leg coming down on an opponent. The starting phase involves the foot being moved in an arc up and forward, like a crescent kick. The arc motion is stopped, and the attacking foot is brought down to strike the target from above, in imitation of an axe. The arc can be performed in either an inward (clockwise) or outward (counter-clockwise) fashion. In some styles, this is known as a downward kick. It is known in Japanese "kakato geri" and as "Chikyo Chagi" or "Nerio Chagi in Korean.". Axe kicks must be practiced carefully because they can very easily be used to accidentally injure one's sparring partner.

One of the most famous proponents of the axe kick was the late Andy Hug, the Swiss karateka that won the 1996 K-1 Grand Prix. He won countless fights with this kick, and it was in fact called the "Andy kick" in some circles. In his K-1 fight against Masaaki Satake, he KO'd the Japanese fighter in 15 seconds with this kick at the tail end of a jab-cross-kick combination, slamming his foe's jaw with the upward swing.
