Since South American porcupines are nocturnal, I had never seen this guy awake before yesterday. Perhaps the golden lion tamarins in his enclosure were bothering him, because he gave me the privilege of watching him climb to a higher branch.
Godiva is a 33 feet high puppet which is travelling from Coventry to London as part of the Cultural Olympiad. When she arrived in Northampton she was presented with a bespoke pair of riding boots made by a local manufacturer - size 72! Unfortunately she was wearing a long skirt, which meant that we could only see a small part of them.
After receiving the boots on the Market Square she made her way around the town centre preceded by a motley crew made up of the Mayor,and some Councillors, corset wearing Morris Dancers, Belly Dancers, the 'Ministry of Cycles', and 'Wicker Maidens' - who I assume were the yong ladies bearing flowers.

Close up of 'Awake' - the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit's presence in his 'flame' mainifestation was the inspiration to debut this powerful painting following the Torch Relay.
This is from a series of photos I took for a friend of mine, Kace, a couple of months ago. We got up early one morning to explore downtown Orlando and find a cool spot with some solid light. Then we stumbled upon this. Couldn't have been any better.

"Dreamers Awake" by Tom Otterness in front of the Wichita Art Museum. Built in 1995 for the 60th anniversary of the museum. The piece has 17 parts and is the museum's largest work. The standing piece is a female figure with her right hand cut off. She is surrounded with a fragmented male figure. Otterness is a Wichita native.
