The Dawn’s Awake!
Otto Leland Bohanan
The Dawn’s awake!
A flash of smoldering flame and fire
Ignites the East. Then, higher, higher,
O’er all the sky so gray, forlorn,
The torch of gold is borne.
The Dawn’s awake!
The dawn of a thousand dreams and thrills.
And music singing in the hills
A pæen of eternal spring
Voices the new awakening.
The Dawn’s awake!
Whispers of pent-up harmonies,
With the mingled fragrance of the trees;
Faint snaches of half-forgotten song—
Fathers! Torn and numb,—
The boon of light we craved, awaited long,
Has come, has come!

"I've been sleeping
under the beanstalk
and I've been dreaming
of something big
I don't know how
but I could swear
I'm on my way somewhere"
~melanie doane
I was wandering along James Street North in downtown Hamilton, Ontario back in the Spring, when I spotted a gentleman in shorts displaying his tats. The title is from his right leg and is either a reference to a Biblical passage from Ephesians 5:14 or possible the name of a Canadian rock band out of Chilliwack, British Columbia. Given the tattoo on his left leg (He Was Made Known), I suspect it was the former rather than the later. - JW

Hi my dear FlickrFriends!
I'm back from 10 days of excavations in Corsica, like last year... A very nice place totally cut of the world. I took 30 Go of photos!
Now, strange image for the beginning... Night or day? This is so easy!

Too wire to sleep. Getting some use out of the new fire pit. Burned some sticks this morning and it was still hot enough to burn some more tonight. We had a rare winter-style rain storm, so it was safe enough to have a fire.
Yeah, yeah, sandals and socks look dorky. But, my feet were cold and I didn't feel like putting on shoes.
Once you awake, it's hard to go back to sleep.
