Pixie is very rarely in this position. Still only around 2 years old she is always on the go chasing anything that moves. The funniest thing is watching Kaiser sitting on the coffee table swishing his tail and Pixie chasing his tail shadow on the floor. The look that Kaiser gives her says it all - he thinks she is completely mad. We are away this weekend at a 60th birthday party where we will be meeting up with lots of old friends at a lovely hotel.

Happy Furry Friday

Wishing you all a happy and jolly weekend

Now tell me everyone, why do you think "sport" comes into mind when you look at this photo? Apparently Flickr's auto tag thinks it is - lol.

I love slot canyons! No, this is not Antelope Canyon. Though it looks very similar. Whenever anyone sees a photo of a slot canyon, they always assume it's Antelope. There are thousands of slot canyons in the southwest. Antelope is the only one that they stuff 2000 tourists into, every day.

This one is near Kanab, Utah. It's way off the beaten path, in the middle of nowhere. It's very difficult to find, and you have to cross private land to get to it. This means you have to find someone who is willing to let you through a locked gate. I was very happy to make it to this canyon again. I actually made it here a couple years ago, but it had rained and the canyon was all flooded, so I could only see the entrance.

March '95. Converted to B&W in LR CLassic. The same applies to this, as the colour version...it may be scrapped!

Ah, I see the "Yellow" Auto Tag is still given for monochrome too ;o)

1 July 2021. Long after the fact, I note that this image was a turning point in my life. It was my 16th Explore, and my 5th Explore in 6 days. I removed an inaccurate auto-tag applied by a Flickr bot, and it dropped off the Explore list from #31. I did not get another Explore for 20 months & 1 day. When I returned, it was in the bottom half of the 500. I got another 12 Explores in the next 7 months, only one at a higher rank than this. Another gap of 2 years ensued. Being excluded from Explore soured me on Explore, Flickr, and photography in general, and deprived me of untold opportunities for exposure and contacts. In due course the Explore rules changed, changed again, and again, and again. In 2020 a major revision put me back among those who are Explored on a fairly regular basis, although never with such a high rank. Life is not fair, but if you persist, it can be rewarding. Who could ask for anything more?

... and year 2017 !

haha, auto tags sagt: schafe -.-

Chilehaus an einem diesigen Abend.

Chile House on a misty evening.

Whatever froggy had planned for his day, it didn't include this.

Just a wild guess...

One funny thing about this shot is that it's actually a severe crop from the original. I was taking a shot of some wild horses grazing side by side with egrets when this tasty tableau happened.

I barely had time to recognize what was happening before ole froggy's new home was in this egret's tummy.

Glad I was able to get off a few shots! Yep, the ole reflexes aren't quite what they once were but heck they sufficed this time. :)

The other funny thing about this shot is that Flickr's auto tag system has deemed it "serene" !

Tell me, Flickr - Why did you auto-tag "SPORT" for this photo? : )

This is the second time Flickr auto tagged Zoe as "people", lol, I thought my husband and I were the only ones that considered Dottie and Zoe people. :D

I love this sculpture titled "Colorado" so much I'm sharing a second photo of it. At the Denver Botanic Gardens. The Flickr auto tagging on this one was way off; thought it was a plant. I wish they would turn that function off.

Recently looked at some samples of this lens and impressed by its bokeh, I bid on ebay for a camera with this lens. Didn't win but on the same day while looking in my collection for a different lens to mount, guess what I found!? The same lens :) Possibly forgot as I was using Canon before and it'll be a close focus if mounted. I think time for me to stop buying any more vintage lenses.

Flickr Auto Tag AI added 'Painting' for this shot. I agree :)

flickr auto-tagged this as minimalism. I give it 100 points.

Friends came over yesterday. I made dinner and we watched the football game in TV (Germany-Poland 3:1). They left at 3:30am but instead of sleeping until noon I woke up at 7:30am. Seems that I'm still in my work week rhythm...
