Yes, back in the 1940s there was an autopilot for bombers to help them get to the target and stay on target. As you can see, it was rather primitive.

On this flashback Friday of 28 November 2014, wanted to make some additions to my June 2014 album of Collings Foundation's visit to Skagit Regional Airport. 2nd year in a row, home for a repeat in 2015... I just might fly with them again as I did in 2012 in their B-17G Nine O Nine.
