Nothing new worth posting so I'll put up this other "pose" from last week - didn't care as much for it as it only shows one wing - but I liked the tail flare.

Sant Joan de l'Erm or Sant Joan de l'Erm Nou is a hermitage and a Nordic ski slope in the municipality of Montferrer Castellbó. In 1959 a new sanctuary was inaugurated, on the slope facing Castellbó, at an altitude of 1,690 m, near the Forest spring, next to a hundred-year-old forest of pine and fir trees, replacing the dilapidated building of Sant Joan de l' Erm Vell.

The church is a modern building, designed by the architect Isidre Puig Boada, with a steep, double-pitched roof and a triangular bell tower at the back. Some 300 m behind the chapel is the Collado de la Basseta, in an extensive plain of pine trees adapted for camping, with a refuge chalet for 80 people, open all year round. In Sant Joan de l'Erm, whose patron saint's day is August 28 and 29, a sardana aplec is held on June 24, Saint John's Day.

Since the early 1970s, the Sant Joan de l'Erm Nordic ski slope has been installed in this area. altitude in the Basseta refuge up to 2,050 m in Prat Montaner, from where you can reach Port Ainé.

Sunset creates unique atmospheric conditions such as the often intense orange and red colors of the Sun and the surrounding sky.

The plant was introduced to Europe, North America, and Australia as an ornamental grass, and, to a lesser extent, to provide food for grazing animals. The feathery flower head plumes, when dried, are widely used in flower arrangements and other ornamental displays.

A shingle beach is a beach which is armoured with pebbles or small- to medium-sized cobbles (as opposed to fine sand). Typically, the stone composition may grade from characteristic sizes ranging from 2 to 200 millimetres (0.1 to 7.9 in) diameter.

A peninsula (Latin: paeninsula from paene "almost" and insula "island") is a piece of land extending out into a body of water that is still connected to mainland or a piece of land that is bordered by water on three sides but connected to mainland

Despite being one of the most densely-populated areas on the British Isles, within easy commuting distance of London, the coastline of South East England has a certain authentic charm.

Taking to a canal or river by boat is a unique experience not to be forgotten. As you leave the pressures of the modern world behind, and the pace of life slows down

Cosmos are annuals, grown for their showy flowers. The flowerheads may be bowl– or open cup–shaped and are atop of long stems. Cosmos are easy to grow and make good border or container plants. They make for good decorations in flower arrangements and also attract birds, bees, and butterflies to your garden.

This, as well, is from the archives, which was taken from my favorite rose garden, Point Defiance Park, located in Tacoma, Washington. I love all the layers on this one...so detailed, so pretty! Hope you all enjoy!

the birds were far out on the lake ...even full zoom on my point-and shoot could not 'bring them in' very close ...but I felt the reflections made the image worth posting ...

Goring is served by Goring-by-Sea railway station and is thought to have been the inspiration for the name of the character Lord Goring in Oscar Wilde's play An Ideal Husband. Oscar Wilde stayed in a cottage in Goring in the summer of 1893, and in "De Profundis" mentions Goring as a place where he stayed with Lord Alfred Douglas alongside with Torquay, London and Florence.
