Day 3 [1-3-2016]
Today was a fantastic day filled with adventure. Began the day with a late wake up as usual and starting the day with a trip to the local dump and grocery store with my dad. Quickly after I picked up Teddy, Eric, and a friend I haven't seen since high school names Maggie. She has been a model for me in high school which is why she shows up in some of my earlier photos. We started our adventure with no destination in mind but slowly built up some ideas leading us through Wompatuck State Park, Granite Links country club, the Quincy quarries, and Harvard Square. Overall my day was quite enjoyable. I was really cutting it close with these uploads due to not having the time to pull out my laptop and upload photos until I returned home, but I am proud of my self for keeping up with this challenge I have given myself. I just have to remind myself that it has only been three days and the challenge has only just begin.
Can't wait to see what the next day brings!

One of the things I've been embracing more is the idea of capturing an event, day, adventure or what have you, in 8 shots. That's the amount of shots in an IMPOSSIBLE pack and I love having this constraint.
Choosing the shots is really part of the fun, and yes, I probably miss out on some shots I should have taken, and sometimes I'll shoot a couple of packs to get the 8, but I want to get to a point where I can shoot 8 and have the perfect story.

Test shots with my Aussie to get a feel for the Canon EOS 6d auto focus. I've found very little online so I would post these. It was a pretty dark Michigan day in the late afternoon. She is extremely fast.

More experiments with the Clip-It Filter system with yellow filter.
In the viewfinder these red roses glowed! The yellow filter brightens red a little and darkens greens a little, but not as drastic as a red filter. In this case it just brings out the red rose a touch to separate it from the greenery.

Pay attention to the focus on the eye.
Autofocus failed. Manual focus also failed. Sometimes the weather is so foggy that even when magnified 10x on the EOS M I am unable to tell whether something is sharp or not. But the blur actually helps here—rendering a dreamscape like no others. So I processed it.
I am trying to find some graduated filters right now, so that I don’t have to keep on fiddling with Shadow/Highlights inside Photoshop to extract some contrast in the white clouds. But perhaps that bit is unavoidable. Might consider doing some HDRs in the future.
