Autofocus with Techart Pro adapter at f/2.8. The autofocus function worked better than I expected and having a monopod greatly helped me to endure the long time shooting.

As Techart Pro mentioned, their adapter works with lens that weights less than 700 g but actually heavier lens can work too as long as the lens has some kind of support below and the the push-pull mechanism now works on the body instead of the lens. Smaller body like A6300 definitely has more advantage.

Test shots with my Aussie to get a feel for the Canon EOS 6d auto focus. I've found very little online so I would post these. It was a pretty dark Michigan day in the late afternoon. She is extremely fast.

Although its autofocus mechanism is slower in comparison to modern standards, it was an improvement on Nikon's first attempt at an AF SLR , the F501 (N2020 in North America), and proved to be typically Nikon in its reliability and durability. Despite the 'N' designation in the US, usually reserved for non-pro cameras, the F-801 was built to a high standard, and incorporated a number of professional-type features: Apesar do "N" na designação os E.U., normalmente reservados para não-PRO câmeras, o F-801 foi construída com um alto padrão, e incorporou uma série de características profissionais de tipo:

A Depth of Field preview button allows temporary stopping down to the shooting aperture to check DOF.

A Multiple Exposure facility allows up to eight shots within one frame.

A unique 'two shot' self timer. Um único "dois tiros" auto-temporizador. This allowed a second shot to be taken by the self timer a couple of seconds after the first, giving a more 'relaxed' and unposed picture.

Fully programmed auto exposure, Aperture priority , Shutter priority and fully manual exposure control. Totalmente programado automático de exposição, Aperture prioridade, prioridade do obturador e totalmente manual exposição controle.

Monday's Theme: Performance

Last Thursday is held on the last Thursday of each month in the Alberta area of Portland. This time it covered 30 blocks and had a wonderful selection of artists and performers lining the blocks.

There were all ages at the event, including this little girl, deep in her performance on her violin. She seemed a little solemn and intense, which seemed a bit sad for someone this age, but she played wonderfully and somber.

The ruler comes with the notebook. I use it to draw the vertical line and as a bookmark.

Eye autofocus test with the Sony A1 and the Sony 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 lens. No other redeeming value to these shots, other than just to see how well the eye was maintained in focus. I had the camera at the lowest burst speed, and it took about 22 shots in about 20 seconds. All these are full frame images, scaled down for uploading to Flickr (i.e., not crops).

Autofocus for the masses, the Nikon F-401 is the entry-level addition to their new commercially successful autofocus camera (starting with the F-501). Known as the N4004 for the US Market, the camera is simple to operate. And it offers up full PSAM controls and traditional Nikon centre-weighted metering, making it alright to use, despite the painfully slow autofocus.

My Sigma 35mm f1.4 DG lens, ordered from ProCameraShop.com, has come back from its repair; when it first arrived it didn't focus properly. Very annoyingly it still doesn't focus properly - if anything it's worse. It is inconsistent, sometimes almost getting it spot on, but at least 25-50% of the time getting it very wrong indeed, as shown here.

I've written plenty more about it in a blog post

Now the most commonest bird of prey in the UK Buzzards can be seen soaring over their territory looking for small mammals, birds and insects which are its staple diet. Is this bird surveying his patch? no he is surrounded on three side by three crows.
