Nata nel 1987 per celebrare i 40 anni della marca, è l’ultima vettura deliberata da Enzo Ferrari ed è considerata la vettura di serie più veloce al mondo.
Frutto della tecnica di F1, ha un telaio in materiali compositi (Kevlar, carbonio e resina), associati a una struttura metallica.
La carrozzeria, disegnata da Pininfarina, si distingue a prima vista per il grande alettone posteriore che ne evidenzia l’aerodinamica esasperata e le ampie prese d’aria sulle fiancate.
Nel giro di poco tempo è diventata ambito oggetto da collezione, innescando clamorose cacce all’acquisto tra collezionisti ed appassionati e raggiungendo quotazioni astronomiche.
