onvert™ is the world’s most accessible Augmented Reality. The service combines QR codes and target recognition to allow for the layering of 3D content over a ‘target’ design - providing Augmented Reality to campaigns. 30 seconds of sound can also be added for a full multimedia effect. The service is free of cost and coding, allowing the majority of designers to create onverts without restriction.

About RWR

READ/WRITE REALITY (RWR) is an intensive and visionary workshop created by FakePress Publishing and Art is Open Source (AOS) in collaboration with Centro Studi Etnografia Digitale to pragmatically explore the methodological, technical and technological possibilities offered by Ubiquitous Publishing. The first edition of RWR was held on September 2011 in Cava de’ Tirreni (Salerno, Italy), at the Ostello “Borgo Scacciaventi”. The result of the workshop was an Augmented Reality Movie created by a wonderful group of 35 people from allover the world, in a complete hand-to-hand process.

Gaming is a whole new beast now.

I've been working on this project for the last couple of months together with Rafael. It's a program with a cool new concept for handheld navigation and a submission for the Google Android Developer Challenge. Have a look at the demo video at www.enkin.net/.

Augmented Reality was one of the bigger reveals at today’s Apple Keynote. They are banking on it being the hottest tech for years to come. It’s not something new to The LEGO Group as they’ve been dabbling in augmented reality for awhile now. They have or had for some time a set...

With augmented reality, you wear a head-mounted display that you can see through to the real world. The HMD superimposes images upon the real world behind.

British retailer Tesco is launching an ambitious augmented reality programme today that will let consumers see 3D images of more than 40 products online.

The technology requires a browser plugin then, after that consumers have to use a “marker” like a Tesco catalog or club card to active the augmented reality (AR). Users can then hold up images from the catalogue to their computer’s webcam to see a floating 3D version of the product.

For instance, an image of a TV set in the catalogue can be expanded onscreen so you can see its actual size and what it looks like on the back. The AR also lets you play with onscreen LEGO sets. Tesco worked with British tech firm Kishino on the project.

Tesco’s foray into AR comes as the technology recently made some serious inroads in the U.S. In one of the most high-profile AR pushes yet, Starbucks launched a Christmas programme this month that uses an iOS-based app to make its red holiday coffee cups project images of animated characters.

To use the programme click here, or to read more visit Mashable.

My whiteboard from day one at the ARSM in Barcelona, in the right Telefonica building this time.

I divided it into a 2x2 matrix for WWW vs Native and Markup vs Raw Data and put issues that touched all of them in the centre, then scored them. Native beat browser plugin 3-2 but markup nicked it over JSON 2-1.

Asami, the Japanese Outreach Coordinator from UTC taught an E-tagami Class.

The littlest makers/readers/learners/players enjoyed special story times, a magic show form a real magician, lots of hands-on science experiments and art projects, and the debut of our new augmented reality sandbox!
