Peter Max is one of the more interesting artists to emerge from the 60's. Sad to say things have not been groovy for him lately.

for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
The print that is for auction is 30x30cm (12x12 in). It will be printed by a pro lab on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308g in mat finish...
To bid, you need to comment below the image with the amount that you would like to bid.
When the auction closes, the person that has bid the most, wins the print.
The auction will close on Wednesday 20th January 2010 at midnight Paris time...
Souvenez-vous que si vous résidez en France 75% de votre don sera déductible des impôts. Ainsi, une enchère de 100€ ne vous coûtera en réalité que 25€.
The winning bidder has to pay that amount to the Red Cross:
www.redcross.org.uk/emergencysite/default.aspx?id=88916
When they do this, they MUST make a screen grab of the donation confirmation page to send to the photographer. This is the only way the photographer knows that you have paid and can arrange for the print to be sent to you.
I hope you will be many to bid. It is a small price to pay compared to those who have lost everything. To the winner if there is a photo in my stream that you prefer I will have that one sent to you... Many thanks in advance...
Standing at a livestock auction is this 1964 'Woody' Commer AFK 247B The cab has been wood grained to match the livestock transporter back, it was owned by Smith & Clark of Halford near Shipston on Stour.
The picture represents a typical unhurried scene of a country stock market over 50 years ago, although Peter intended to photograph the handsome Commer he swung his camera to include the whole scene thus giving us a picture of country life in 1965.

* This slide has faded to an all over magenta colour, quite how the Epson scanner 'found' the colours that it has is a mystery but the result was close enough to tweak a bit. Peter had also masked the picture to remove the figure in red on the right, he had used gummed black paper tape which responded to a soak in wetting agent and a blast with the hair drier.
Grant and I visited the Hostetler Hudson Museum Auction preview in Shipshewana, Indiana on August 3, 2018. Eldon Hostetler established a stellar collection of Hudsons and their associated marques, showcasing them in his museum here in the northern Indiana Amish country. He has passed away and the collection is now being auctioned on August 4.
These three high-end cars are not in this auction, but are here to advertise upcoming auctions by Worldwide Auctioneers. From left to right are a 1931 Duesenberg Model J, the 2004 Ford GT CP-4 Prototype and a 1930 Studebaker President Roadster.

Vintage Mr. Magoo Stag Beer Sign (Insert) from the Carling Brewing Co, Belleville, IL. Note that this piece was apparently an insert to a larger advertising display item. There looks to be a smude of old adhesive residue in the upper upper left tree branches (see Photo). Otherwise the sign is in great condition for being 50+ years old.
Sign is molded plastic and measures 16" Wide x 10" Tall.
Shipping Weight is 21 oz.

Vegetable auction at Garak market in Seoul, Korea
Garak-dong Agricultural & Marine Products Market is the largest wholesale market of agricultural and fishery products in Korea.
The market sells and auctions all sorts of agricultural and fishery products brought in from all over the nation. Most of the small and large retailers in the Seoul metropolitan area come here to purchase their goods. The market is busy 24 hours a day due to these wholesalers, but also because many local residents come here frequently to take advantage of the fresh products being sold at low prices.
Auction coming to the LeMay Family Collection soon and they are collecting cars for it. I love the style of these 1955 Nash Rambler Cross Countrys. The open front wheels was only for one year on these Ramblers, although they returned to the market in 1958 as a much lower priced car with few body styles.
In the early fifties, when the Rambler appeared, George Mason and his crew knew that they could not make the Rambler a low priced car because the cost of production wasn't low, so they make it a compact mid-priced car and did quite well. They offered flashy models, like this station wagon and a convertible.

Kadina. The town was laid out in 1860 by the government to provide a settlement for the Wallaroo mines of Walter Watson Hughes. Blocks were auctioned in 1861. The town took its name from the corruption of a local Aboriginal word meaning “lizard plain” Kaddyinna. By 1863 the town had a court house, police station, Post Office and telegraph station. At that time it took three or four days to travel to Adelaide but this was reduced to 12 hours when the road was completed in 1865. Near to the mines Cornish village settlements sprang up, often on leased Crown land until 1871 when the area was surveyed and the freehold sold to settlers. These villages included Matta Flat, Jerusalem, Jericho and Wallaroo Mines. Most of the buildings in these villages have now disappeared since the closure of the mine in 1923. Stone from some of the mine structures was used to build the Catholic Church in Kadina which opened in 1936. It is an especially fine building with limestone. The well laid out township of Kadina was destined to become the major commercial centre for the Copper Triangle once the railway from Adelaide arrived there in 1878.
