Denpasar has various attractions. The white sandy beaches are famous all over the island. Some of the famous surfing beaches are Kuta Beach, Legian Beach and Canggu Beach. Sanur beach has calmer waters and is excellent for sunbathing.

Ten minutes from the Ngurah Rai International Airport lies the town of Kuta. Kuta is where most of the hotels, restaurants, malls, cafes, marketplaces, and spas that cater to tourists are located. In the Denpasar area, all kinds of beautiful Balinese handicrafts are represented in local shops. These include artwork, pottery, textiles, and silver. Bali is a haven for shoppers everywhere.

The famous batik cloth is sold all over Denpasar. These bright sheets of cloth are as beautiful as they are cheap. Made of pure cotton with glorious patterns, Balinese batik is definitely a good buy. Sometimes batik cloth is made into wearable clothing such as a sarong or men's shirts. The jewelry district is in a town called Celuk which is 30 minutes away from Kuta. Here you will find rows and rows of silversmiths' and goldsmiths' shops selling jewellery at very low prices.

It has a population of 491,500 people and covers 47.9 sq miles. Its time zone is UTC+8.

The World Heritage Rock Art Centre - Alta Museum (Verdensarvsenter for bergkunst – Alta Museum) is located at Alta in Finnmark, Norway.

World Heritage Rock Art - Alta Museum is situated in Hjemmeluft, a small bay in the Altafjord at a site of early settlement of Finnmark dating from around 11,000 years ago. In 1973, the first rock carvings in Hjemmeluft were found. To date over 3,000 figures have been registered here. In the municipality as a whole over 6000 figures have been registered.

The museum opened in June 1991 and won the European Museum of the Year Award in 1993. Alta Museum is northern Norway's most-visited summer museum, with more than 1,000 visitors each day. It is the second most visited attraction in Finnmark County. It presents exhibitions on local culture and historic industries including the nearby prehistoric rock carvings that form a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Alta is a town on Norway’s northern coast, at the head of Alta Fjord. It’s known for views of the Northern Lights, which inspired the cascading architecture of the Northern Lights Cathedral, built in 2013. Thousands of prehistoric rock carvings are at nearby Hjemmeluft Bay, where there are viewing paths and the World Heritage Rock Art Centre. South of town, the Alta River runs through steep Alta Canyon.

The town is located on the southern end of Altafjorden at the mouth of the river Altaelva. The famous rock carvings at Alta lie just to the west of the town.

Alta is considered the northernmost city in the world with a population surpassing 10,000.

The municipality of Alten-Talvig was established on 1 January 1838. (Wikipedia)

A common site along the big city roads in India, something that never fails to, hmm, not quite sure what the right word is. Shock isn't right, surprise isn't. I'll have to think about that.

The first structure seen by visitors arriving at the complex is the massive Henry Ford Museum. Covering 49,000 square meters, or about twelve acres, this structure is one of the largest museums in the country and contains a staggering variety of attractions and exhibits. The main entrance of the museum is a careful recreation of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, flanked by a symmetrical procession of brick colonial-style structures. When the museum was being designed, Mr. Ford sent architects to Philadelphia to study and measure the original Independence Hall, and while there, they discovered that one of the windows was actually off-center. It had been placed one brick too far to one side. The architects told Mr. Ford what they had found and informed him that they would not make the same mistake — and he instructed them to recreate it exactly like the original, misplaced window and all.

Also know as Sultan Ahmet Mosque, the Blue Mosque has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, and it is one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. Built between 1609 and 1616 under the reign of Ahmed I, the mosque is the perfect fusion of centuries of Ottoman-mosque and Byzantine-church construction and is the final grand mosque of the Ottoman Empire's classical phase.

Lombard street, a.k.a. "World's crookedest street" as they call it. Lombard street is a street in San Francisco, California and although it spans from Presidio all the way down to Embarcadero it is famous for a very specific portion of it: a steep downhill one block section with 8 (!) hairpin turns within 160 meters between Hyde and Laevenworth street. Unfortunately I couldn't find a decent spot to capture it perfectly but if you take a look at the photo you will notice that the cars that drive down Lombard street have very different directions. Lombard street sits on the side of the Russian hill and the fact that roughtly 2.000.0000 people per year visit it makes it is a very popular tourist attraction among San Francisco's sights. During busy summer weekends it is estimated that cars wait up to 20 minutes just to drive down the crooked part of Lombard street

The UFO Welcome Center is a tourist curiosity located in Bowman, South Carolina, United States, built in the back yard of Jody Pendarvis. It consists of a 42-foot-wide flying saucer (13 m) built out of wood, fiberglass, and plastic. The structure, entered via a powered ramp, is mounted on four columns, designed to raise and lower with motors. In addition to a labyrinth of mechanical and electronic salvage parts, the saucer is furnished with a bed, satellite television, air conditioning, toilet, and shower. Pendarvis envisioned himself as being an ambassador to aliens and wanted to provide a facility where they could rest after a long journey on UFOs.

Construction on the saucer began in 1994 and it soon became a local tourist attraction. A fee of one dollar was charged for entry. It has settled into some disrepair in recent years.

Copenhagen is a lively, old city with a thriving nightlife, historical sites like Vor Frue Kirke and Amalienborg Palace, and cultural attractions including museums and the Tivoli theme park. Another hazy, hot summer day in August of 2004 finds the Iowa Traction going to work as usual. The IATR 60 has a couple of empty gondolas off the UP interchange that are headed to the scrap yard adjacent to the Emery Shops as it heads west along the road--just like all good interurbans used to do. But this one is the last--the last side of the road electric railway. The 1917 Baldwin locomotive will place the empties and grab a few loads headed back east, another trip along the side of the road.

Attraction is such an abstract concept that it is difficult to put into words. All I know is that this particular patch of Lodgepole Pines always catches my eye and attention.

Bluewaters Island is one of the tourist highlights of Dubai, thanks mainly to its star attraction, Ain Dubai (Dubai Eye), the tallest Ferris wheel in the world. The 250-meter-high wheel is almost twice as high as the London Eye. The Ferris wheel counts 48 high-tech, oval-shaped capsules and can carry a total of 1,750 passengers. The wheel was inaugurated on 21 October 2021 but has been closed for renovation works since spring 2022. It is scheduled to reopen towards the end of Q1 2023 – Bluewaters Island, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

So we asked the otter what it thought of all the people who had come to visit the zoo and I'm guessing it wasn't impressed.
