The interplay of light and shadow and visual angle reveals deeper, hidden meanings within otherwise everyday images. That which seems ordinary becomes extraordinary and mystical.

SEATTLE -- A crowd of 45,000 fans got an extra surprise at the end of the Paul McCartney concert at Safeco Field, when members of Nirvana joined him on stage.

It's not the first time Sir Paul & Nirvana have collaborated. They also played together during the December 2012 Hurricane Sandy relief concert.

The event was the first-ever public concert at Safeco Field.

It took 250 people, 31 trucks of gear and 70,000 watts of audio equipment to get the stadium ready for the show and the crowds that came with it. The preparation work included laying down a protective surface to protect the field from forklifts and other machinery setting up the stage in center field.

Fans told KING 5 they'd go just about anywhere to see Sir Paul perform, but the setting made this show even more of a must-see.

"It's such a beautiful Seattle day," said Judy Qualls. "And we get to see a legend."

After the concert, crews will work through the weekend, removing everything and preparing for the Monday night Mariners game.

Normally associated with southern part of the Netherlands, but Schiedam has its Carnaval procession too, albeit for one afternoon. For the occasion the name of the city is now "Brandersgat", until Wednesday. The temporary name reflects the cities' roots in the jenever/ gin industry.

The Associated General Contractors and Nevada Contractors Association held their Strategic Planning Session on November, 16, 2012, inside The Orleans hotel-casino in Las Vegas. McGraw-Hill Construction's Cliff Brewis provided an upbeat industry forecast, anticipating a 28% growth in construction activity statewide in 2013. Meanwhile, lobbyists Chris Ferrari and Gary Milliken recapped the outcome from the recent election while outlining strategies and initiatives for the forthcoming 2013 Legislature. Finally, association leadership discussed recent accomplishments and future goals for the two groups.

One of the many successful Just Associates events that CMCP have presented these last few months. This event, only for law firm associates, was held at Foley & Lardner in San Francisco on June 11, 2013. Attendees got to participate and engage with their peers about the topics covered that night like; importance of peer networking. An interactive networking workshop was also held at the event followed by another great discussion about how to successfully navigate your way through a networking event.

Associate Professor of Computer Science and Business Adam Eck and his Winter Term students Frank Kusi Appiah and Maike Anthony dos Santos Silva, both '28, place sensors in Oberlin College's Pollinator Garden.

"The goal is to explore how we can collect data from indoor plants and outdoor gardens (and possibly scaling to small farms) then utilize that data to automate the management of activities like plant watering schedules using artificial intelligence," explains Eck. "[We want to] visualize the data over time to help us understand the health of the plants and the effects of weather and micro-climates. This Winter Term is really just about starting towards that goal and exploring what is feasible in this space."
