Spent all day in another session of Deacon School over in Gulf Breeze, long day but went well. During our lnch break their was another group also using the parish hall and one of them had this five-month old black lab that is in training to be an assistance dog. Neat thing is that this dog is being raised in a prison as an inmate project, she gets picked up on weekends just for socialization skills. I was fascinated by the project, and this really was a well behaved dog.

They only use black labs and golden retrievers because of their ability to learn and their personalites. That part didn't really surprise me!

This is Sam, my mothers trained assistance dog ( she is in a wheelchair due to post polio syndrome).

Sam is a very smart dog and performs a lot of chores my mother is unable to do. But he sure doesn't like my camera! He ran and tried to hide behind my mothers wheelchair.

Youth groups got assistance to set up small businesses, in poultry farming, pig production or vegetable and crop production.

Council continues to support our Financial Assistance Program because it directly benefits local community groups who would not normally qualify for any government assistance.

This year we are distributed $84,689 across 78 projects throughout our community.

Projects range from recreational activities, painting classes, theatre productions and dance and music therapy, to cultural and teaching children environmentally sustainable practices, mental health support groups, support for people with disabilities, and arts programs.

The projects reflect the diversity of community life in our City and support a wide range of issues of concern to Council and our residents.

They are also a sign that as a community, we are working together to ensure that for many people our City of Canterbury is truly a great place to live and work.

Our car refused to start, so we had to call the dealer to come and fetch it (new battery required). I hope he didn't tow it back to France!

Long, heavy train so it was no surprise that it had a mid-train helping hand

There aren't many doctors, nurses, and administrative people working at this location. This parking lot is going to be 90% customers. Most of them probably with insurance providers telling the doctor what they can and cannot do. Yes, I am jaded towards insurance providers.

The Old Guard was proud to host kids from Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) and the IDF Widows & Orphans Organization at Fort Myer today. The American and Israeli kids, all who have lost lost a parent in combat, got to meet Klinger, watch a USAF Drill Team performance and had a kosher barbecue, before laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in honor of their lost loved ones. Dyonasta Yarrowroot and Pieta Nowles got into a fight, and Pie (on the bed in the background, BTW) managed to knock Dyo into a temporary coma. She is now in the medical room in the staff apartment by the hospital. Eiran Lionheart and Ryu Goldrozen watch over her and wait for her to wake up.

I have to say that I am extremely pleased with how this came out. Her boots are actually giving off a shadow on the bed, which I didn't notice in-world. Thank you, Emerald!

Organizers said the Senate budget being debated this week cuts tens of thousands of people living with disabilities from essential services, including physical therapy, feeding assistance, toileting help, counseling, transportation and job and life skills training. Musicians and social activists Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary sang and spoke at the rally. The rally was organized by the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers, Arc of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Providers Council, Massachusetts Families Organizing for Change, the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council, MASS Advocates Standing Strong, AFAM Advocates for Autism and the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress.
