Assignment: What's Happening in Your Kitchen?
After seeing this group's high-key assignment for last week, I wanted to try it out, & see if I could capture that melting into bliss sort of feeling I get from the conjunction of texture & taste in pumpkin pie. (I wanted to get more definition & peaks in the whipped cream, but then I got more conspicuous shadows than I liked, so settled for this version.)

In this folio I wanted to document the day in the life of a photographer. I spent a number of days following a photographer who’s main interest is urban street art. At least once a week he travels from Bendigo to Melbourne to search the streets hoping to find new works of art to document, this has become his obsession.

This is one of the Assignment 1 parts for my Harvard Ext. School class, Building Web-based software with Ruby on Rails.
Mostly I like the colors I picked for Terminal combined with the random color background from my Colourlovers colours.
This is a memorandum for my father who passed away 4 years ago. It is the flowers from his funeral put into one of his trains he had. He used to work for the railroad. For the feeling part I should have made it darker but instead I put it up on a pedestal in my living room and tried to make it look like something in a display case. I used lights to shine on it from the front. This was ISO 200, 60 mm, f/ 5.6, 1/30 sec. I sharpened it a little more, added tint, and added less exposure as well as light and dark.
I took this photo of my friends baby asleep on me to show how tired he was and I added some warmer tones to represent sleepyness.

For my second picture, I captured myself in the middle of me eating because I love to eat... ALL THE TIME.
The assignment was to do something you hadn't done before. There was discussion of the guy who cuts holes in black paper covers for his camera lens. I tried that. Didn't work. Went looking for scissors and noticed my pancake turner so figured those holes were already cut and went off to shoot fromt the front step - it was raining out there - and this was end result. Classmate had huge explanation of how she had set up her photo. Mine - "no story" and just held up the pancake turner!
Pretty fun project!
