Taken for the Active Assigment Weekly Beautiful Bokeh lights
WIT: One of my favorite Christmas decorations is the Nutcracker, this one being my favorite. Taken from about 4-5 feet from my Christmas tree with Canon 50mm lens set at f/1.8. I used a table lamp (swapped out the florescent bulb to a more traditional bulb to match the tone of the lights of the tree) to add a little extra light on the nutcracker.

I spent three days at Roy Chilem's racing stables in Tolga on the Atherton Tableland as part of an uprating ISO assignment for La Trobe University. I was hard going. I only had suitable lighting conditons for about an hour. The stable was also very busy, which added another layer of difficulty. I decided against getting Mel, Roy and Gary to stop working for pictures, which is why there is a lot of movement in the shots.

Restrictions: Only one single letter. You can include different objects but only one letter.

My "model's" name was Scooter. He is a rather accommodating iguana who lives in the reptile petting zoo outside the Downtown Denver Zoo. The owners of the petting zoo placed him on the fence because he is the nicest iguana they have and he tends to pull more people in. That said I think he is quite used to having his picture taken and I kid you not he made subtle head and body movements as I snapped pictures just like a professional model. Most of the photos were taken from the front but I decided to try and capture his spine. Just as I was about to take the picture he moved his head to the left so that I could see and take a picture of his head as well.
