At this point, Kirk is in the top of the right leg with a long steel pin that will be used to joggle the bolt joints of the leg and torso into alignment.
The crane slowly lowered the torso with an incredible precision. Katy and Chelsey steadied and turned the torso with a line on one side; Todd worked the line on the other side.
The joint came together and the line between the parts disappeared.
The process was so graceful that it was difficult to keep in mind, the weight they were dealing with: the torso alone weighs about a ton.
If the test had not been prepared with due diligence, Kirk could have died.

The Assembly Rooms were at the heart of fashionable Georgian society, the perfect venue for entertainment. When completed in 1771, they were described as 'the most noble and elegant of any in the kingdom'.
Designed by John Wood the Younger, the set of four public rooms was purpose-built for an 18th century form of entertainment known as an 'assembly'.
A large number of guests met together to dance, drink tea, play cards and listen to music - or just walk about, talk and flirt.
There are four rooms: the Ball Room, Tea Room, Octagon Room and a Card Room.

This is a full 360-degree view. Laying it all out flat like this gives an interesting barrel distortion to the grid of beams that make up the building.
