The strangest aspect of hamerkop behaviour is the huge nest, sometimes more than 1.5 metres (4 ft 11 in) across, comprising perhaps 10,000 sticks and strong enough to support a man's weight. The birds decorate the outside with any bright-coloured objects they can find. When possible, they build the nest in the fork of a tree, often over water, but if necessary they build on a bank, a cliff, a human-built wall or dam, or on the ground. A pair starts by making a platform of sticks held together with mud, then builds walls and a domed roof. A mud-plastered entrance 13–18 centimetres (5.1–7.1 in) wide in the bottom leads through a tunnel up to 60 centimetres (24 in) long to a nesting chamber big enough for the parents and young.

These birds are compulsive nest builders, constructing three to five nests per year whether they are breeding or not.

These are odd times with forced lifestyle changes none of us had planned for leaving us time to reflect on so many aspects of our lives,

For those who have retired its probably not much of a change and all the things girls like me are going through you have probably already experienced like the total lack of freedom to be yourself. Most of us girls are well in the closet with no hope of dressing anytime soon.

So what has these time taught you about yourself, are you going to change anything, have your priorities changed or will it be back to the norm and this never really effected you at all?

I have learnt that I find it hard being stuck at home being the housewife if you like, I do miss getting up and going to work even as him. The difficult thing I have found is that the woman within is no longer just within as you probably noticed.

Priorities haven't really changed in as much as my wife and daughter are number one, but I have discovered that my parents mean more to me than I thought, We are not and never been a close family, it seems however that Helen misses them, work is still work but a job closer to home Is needed and will be searched for. Helen needs to learn her place in the new world order she isn't a princess! well not a real one lol.

I am going to be more eco friendly and embrace new tech that helps save the planet and I am going to try and do my bit for the natural world on my property.

We live under the Stansted airport flight path, and I can tell you how nice it is not seeing planes every three to four minuets, hearing the sounds of the engines backing off to slow down and a sky full of vapour trails making ultimately cloud cover. So maybe I don't need to do as much air travel as I have recently.

The scary thing is I am really Helen who sometimes like to crossdress as a guy. today is one of those days and its not bad :-) Wont last I feel a dress calling me from upstairs lol.

Moved by a classical experience, in some ways akin to the trend of the "Twentieth Century", then he went detaching, to reconnect to more archaic examples, especially the Egyptian and Etruscan art. His research is essentially aimed at the internal structure of the form, the organization of space itself in plastic forms; his nudes and portraits, while retaining a vigorous realistic accent, always aim at values of pure plastic, understood as a "constant" of every aspect of reality.

I´m still amazed by the Sony A1 and Sony FE 200-600 G combo. It´s fantastic in every aspect!

In every breath, a universe unfolds,

Each atom a testament, ancient and bold.

In rivers that flow, in mountains that rise,

The divine essence, a silent guise.

From the flutter of wings to the stars' dance above,

All intertwined in a tapestry of love.

An aspect of Chrysanthemum, tightly packed, a true Autumn flower, built against rain, wind and cold?

The name "chrysanthemum" is derived from the Greek words chrysos (gold) and anthemon (flower)

Chrysanthemums, sometimes called mums or chrysanths, are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae. They are native to Asia and northeastern Europe. Most species originate from East Asia and the center of diversity is in China. Chrysanthemums were first cultivated in China as a flowering herb as far back as the 15th century BC.

The flower was brought to the Western World in the 17th century. There are about 40 valid species and countless horticultural varieties and cultivars.

For many years, chrysanthemum signifies praise and admiration. A chrysanthemum is considered as a noble flower of the Chinese noble class.

Southern Sonoran desert, State of Sonora, Mexico.

The steep, craggy north-eastern face of Stob Dearg forms the classic aspect of the mountain as seen from the Kings House Hotel, and constitutes the most direct route of ascent for climbers and scramblers. Crowberry Ridge, a classic rock climb graded severe, was first climbed direct – and photographed – in 1900 by the Abraham brothers with Messrs Puttrell and Baker. Immediately to the left is Curved Ridge, one of the most famous scrambling routes.

Alternatively there is a somewhat eroded path leading steeply up the Coire na Tulaich which, in summer conditions, allows walkers to ascend the peaks, reaching the ridge about half a kilometre west of Stob Dearg.

Buachaille Etive Mòr is separated from its sister mountain of Buachaille Etive Beag to the west by the valley of Lairig Gartain. To the east lies Glen Etive, which provides an alternative route of ascent, heading up steep grassy slopes to the summit of Stob na Bròige. Another route follows the Allt Coire Altruim from the Lairig Gartain, reaching the ridge about two thirds of the way along from the north. This route is often used as descent route in conjunction with an ascent via Coire na Tulaich, forming a circular route with a walk out along the Lairig Gartain.

On 24 January 2009, three mountain climbers were killed and one was seriously injured in an avalanche disaster.

100 days in space for #MissionAlpha. It feels like a long time ago, but we also installed new toilets shortly after arriving. I was looking at the procedures on the tablet velcroed to my thigh, and yes, this filter looked so much like a banjo, I had to. The same video specialist at ESA who edits the timelapse videos (and much, much more!), Melanie Cowan, spotted this clip from the Space Station onboard camera views, added some music and the result is… perfectly embarrassing! 🎸😂👏. True story: I actually helped Mark on this day. A little. Maybe. No one knows.

This aspect of Buddha represents the attainment of Nirvana or freedom from the cycle of rebirth. Buddha lies on his right side, his head resting on a cushion or lying on his right elbow, supporting his head with his hand. He has still not been freed of his karmic cycle as he is propped up on his elbow in this representation in the Wat Pho in Bangkok.

The Reclining Buddha is brickwork mortar with plaster from the inside with gold gilded on top. The complex is called Wat Pho and it is a tad crowded with many structures crammed in.

It is difficult to shoot the full body length of the Reclining Buddha as there are pillars very close to the statue all along its length.

The Buddha measures 15 m high and 46 m long and renders all attempts to shoot fraught with karmic challenges.

If you are wondering why they make the reclining Buddha so large, the story is that there was a giant called Asurindarahu who wanted to see the Buddha, but was reluctant to bow before him. The Buddha, while lying down, presented himself as much larger than the giant. He then showed him the realm of heaven with heavenly figures all larger than the giant. After all this, Asurindarahu, the giant, was humbled, and made his obeisance to the Buddha before leaving.

The reclining Buddha statues are not supposed to induce sadness but instead it should be taken as as a token of encouragement that all beings have the potential to be awakened or enlightened and release themselves from the suffering which is characterized by the cycle of rebirth.

The serene and smiling or the "beatfic" expression of the Buddha in reclining Buddha statue portrays the compassion and calmness that comes with the enlightenment.

Other than the Wat Pho in Bangkok, there are many other iconic reclining statues all over the Buddhist nations e.g. the Chaukhtatgyi Paya in Burma, the Dambulla in Sri Lanka and the Monolithic Buddha in Cambodia and many more.

Aspect of Medieval Fair held annually in the Interior Castle.

Recently, many aspects of being got a different proportion. Things that previously rushed into life slowly but surely lose their speed. In this process, it became evident that not all of them deserved the attention they got. In contrast to that, it becomes clear that one would love to invest in more devotion in other aspects.

Hence, reality flusters individual perspectives, and suddenly everything feels upside down. In this mess, the proportions of relevance reinvent themselves with some surprises.

While it is possible to observe where the journey is heading, it is easy to fall victim to enduring separation on the way. Though one might try to be satisfied with little, the loneliness and separation from those who could bring comfort at this difficult time represent a tremendous personal challenge.

While it is difficult to accept this current reality, it also provides the possibility to evaluate the new proportions. However, one must not forget that there will be light at the end of the tunnel, and it might shine brighter than before.

Orden Passeriformes; familia Turdidae

Longitud 14-16 cm. Envergadura 26-32 cm.
