Many thanks for your visits, faves and comments. Cheers. ...from a drive through the Main Range National Park to Queen Mary Falls.

Main Range National Park is on the western part of the Scenic Rimâa spectacular arc of mountains stretching from Mount Mistake to Springbrook in South East Queensland. It comprises 30,170.5 ha and is managed by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS).

In December 1994, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee officially declared the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage AreaExternal link icon over the Scenic Rim (including most of Main Range and Mount Barney national parks and nearly all of Lamington and Springbrook national parks) and the rainforests of northern and central New South Wales.

As part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, Main Range is an extremely important refuge for many animals. These include a species of land snail, the beautiful Richmond birdwing butterfly, endangered birds (e.g. the eastern bristlebird), amphibians such as the Fleay's barred frog, and mammals such as the spotted-tailed quoll and the Hastings River mouse. Main Range National Park plays a vital role in protecting this rich diversity of globally-significant wildlife.

Differences in the mountains' topography, altitude, aspect and soil characteristics lead to diversity in the park's plant communities, which range from subtropical and cool temperate rainforest to wet and dry sclerophyll forest, montane heath and rock pavement vegetation.

It depicts seven life-size figures. Aspects of Ketchikan's past.

Chief Johnson, the lumberjack - the fisherman - the miner - the aviator - an elderly woman and an elegant lady.

In this way, prominent Alaska Natives, the logging, fishing and mining industries, the town's historic heavy reliance on air links and - despite its relative isolation - its maintenance as a centre of cosmopolitan fashion are all incorporated into the work.

Used DXO Nik Collection to give this "wet plate" aspect.

Prompt: create a digital fine art, ultra-realistic, of two young girls in white nightgowns, with their Westie puppy, beside the decorated Christmas tree, illuminated by soft morning sunlight streaming through the tall window. The girls are wrapping a present as their Westie puppy watches. Keep all proportions, shadows, reflections, and floor patterns unchanged. Refine the brushwork to a clean digital-fine-art finish with subtle texture, preserving natural color harmony, and soft contrast. Do not alter faces, poses, hair, clothing, or gifts. Ensure seamless edges, no artifacts, and consistent lighting direction. Square aspect ratio, realistic depth, no noise effect

There are parts of Dinorwic slate quarry that are always dark.

The scale of the place is breath taking. There are features to it that amaze, and aspects that are stunningly beautifully. It has even been put forward as a UNESCO World Heritage site. But it is officially out of bounds to the public and unfortunately unsuitable for mass tourism. Because Dinorwic has always been dangerous. It was dangerous for the thousands of men who toiled to manually dig out hundreds and hundreds of millions of tonnes of slate often in horrendous weather. And now it's crumbling and unmaintained state probably makes it even more dangerous. But the draw of Dinorwic for me is insatiable. I just have to keep going back to explore a little more.

On the edge of the very biggest hole, in a corner that is always dark, is a slate staircase that goes down to tunnel entrances that go even deeper. These are places I will not venture on my own

Portrait aspect of Barbara Falls, also known as South Fork Falls. Barbara must have been a special gal to have this fall named after her. Or maybe she just babbled on incoherently. The name Barbara is of Greek origin meaning stranger or foreigner, or anyone who did not speak their language. That makes sense. More than half the time, I can't understand what woman are saying. Might of the sea.

Cape Of Good Hope...Southern Tip Of South Africa.

I LOVE THE SEA!!! Under ALL circumstances, whether wild or calm...

What might here, SPECTACULAR, thunderingly beautiful and somehow frightening!

I grew up by and with the sea and NEVER underestimate it! This here is still the Atlantic Ocean.

'Cape of Good Hope' named thus because of the great optimism engendered by the opening of a sea route to India and the East.

I wish you all a very good day and thank you for all your kind words, time, comments and likes.

Very much appreciated. Magda, (*_*)

Aspects of Penarth. Waves lap at the Penarth Esplanade on a blustery 19 September 2020. This was just past high tide and the swell was starting to dissipate, but still not the sort of sea to be out on. Just visible (red) in the background is one of the Penarth lifeboats, being dragged up the slipway to its boathouse after an exercise.

A new bunch of flowers brings a new bunch of photographic opportunities.

I love how flowers like this that aren't quite perfect still beautiful despite their flaws. We should all take this approach with aspects of our lives.

A key aspect in creating great wildlife images is centered around your ability to control the background in your frame. Not only do they enhance the overall look and feel of your image, but it can also do the exact opposite. Keep an eye out as we will be sharing a post on 5 Tips to Improving your Wildlife Images! Nature and natural settings grab my interest. I've boiled that interest down to three aspects of nature - Random, Abstract and Patterns. Various shots taken over the past weekend, three uploaded, this one as my Patterns offering.

Ive been tagged by Kitty Sanchez to say sixteen aspect of me. I just realize this is not as easy as i thought.

Aqui voy:

8. No me gusta la playa, me da sueño. Voy únicamente por presión social.

9. Quisiera vivir en otro país.

14. No creo en la fidelidad absoluta.

15. Me encanta cantar!

Kitty, I try my best to translate it:

2. I love to cry, is the best way to let off all my feelings. I cry easily, even more if I get excited about something.

3. Im extremely shy, although everyone i know don’t believe it.

4. Im so afraid of loneliness, darkness and failure.

5. For me romance is always first. I really enjoy movies and love songs.

A high aspect ratio wing is most efficient for long distance gliding. With bones that lock into place in the extended wings, this lasyan albatross uses a horizontal lift component to bank sharply to the right and head out to sea. At sea it will have an oscillating glide path as it rises on orographic lift off wave faces then gravity accelerates into the wave troughs to glide for thousands of miles across the Pacific. The aerodynamics of mōlī (Phoebastria immutabilis) flight are fascinating. But it is the seemingly effortless, calm beauty and aerial grace that keeps me enviously watching for hours.

Ks 1: Reduced Speed: this means not always that a train is routed to a diverging track. The reason for speed limit can be a reduced breaking distance or overlap!

This part of the paperbark wetland/forest/swamp is in the Bongaree wetlands on Bribie Island.

Melaleuca quinquenervia, commonly known as broad-leaved paperbark, the paper bark tea tree or niaouli, is a small- to medium-sized tree of the allspice family, Myrtaceae. The plant is native to New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea and coastal eastern Australia, from Botany Bay in New South Wales northwards, into Queensland and the Northern Territory. It has become naturalised in the Everglades in Florida, where it is considered a serious weed by the USDA. The broad-leaved paperbark grows as a spreading tree up to 20 m high, with the trunk covered by a white, beige and grey thick papery bark. The grey-green leaves are ovate and the cream or white bottlebrush-like flowers appear from late spring to autumn. (Source: Wikipedia)

Tarabilla europea

(Saxicola rubicola)

Many thanks for your visits, faves and comments. Cheers.

`This part of the paperbark wetland/forest/swamp (with water after some cyclonic rains) is in the Buckleys Hole Conservation Park on Bribie Island. Buckley's Hole Conservation Park is situated in the south-west corner of Bribie Island and covers an area of 87.7 hectares and contains a freshwater lagoon, woodland, open forest and beach. It is this diversity of habitat that has led to such a large number of bird species being recorded in this small area, the present total standing at 270.

I think that I processed the first photo of the rhino in haste so I re-processed this photo using a slightly different technique. More pleasing to my eye at least.

.. for a refreshing thunderstorm.

Still not easy to take photos of the cats as both Fynn and Linus are under the weather. It's not extremely hot right now but very humid which is just as bad. Fynn often heads outside when clouds are gathering but so far we only had a little bit of rain which only increased the humidity. The positive aspect is that everyone is too lazy to hunt during the day which means good news for birds !
