Wobbly hand-held video of the Ark entirely under its own illumination as she prepares to sail to the Sheffield Brickfest at the weekend. Good thing her reactor is now working.
The P-Ark is a floating parking deck that can accommodate 403 cars. The originally flatboat was built in the 1970s and then rebuilt in 1991 after a design by the architect company Abako.
The office building has got the nickname "Läppstiftet" which in translation is "The Lipstick". It was built 1986-89, designed by architect Ralph Erskine.
The Ark is a mile-long spacecraft on a 100-year mission to colonise a distant planet. The rotating centrifuge provides artificial gravity to support a biome representing all the world’s ecosystems.
The model has approx. 10,000 LEGO elements supported on a custom steel frame and uses LED lights and Power Functions motors to turn the centrifuge. The biome models were built by Rogue Bantha and Inthert; and the circuitry for the reactor lights was provided by Rick Fornalski. Officially a SHIP at 116 studs high and about 110 studs long, as well a MASSIVE investment in parts and time; the project took over a year to design and build. Look back through the album to see some of the stages in constructing this monster.
Because the Corona Virus cancelled most LEGO shows this year the Ark has yet to be seen by a wide audience. Hence, I’ll be presenting an AFOL MOC Talk as part of Brickcon on the 4th October at 8am PDT / 4pm BST where I’ll show the model in detail and switch the motors on to spin the centrifuge; as well as talking about a few other recent builds. Go to brickcon.org to buy tickets. Hopefully in 2021 the Ark will set sail to select LEGO shows in the UK.

BR large logo 50035 'Ark Royal' approaches Exeter Central with the Table 145 09:10 from London Waterloo to Exeter St. David's. The Class 50 was about to pass the fine example of a rail-built gantry that supported a trio of typical Southern Railway lattice pattern signal dolls. The raised centre upper quadrant signal controlled entry to the down platform [2] loop. The tallest doll on the left controlled the down through line that was to be taken out of use during the following month [13th October 1984]. The semaphore signal on the right controlled access to the down bay platform [1].

On December 18th 2021 it was utilised to operate a staff train from Kidderminster to Arley. Here it is seen in the process of running round and shunting the stock for the return leg.

I made this for Jane's new release at Squigglefly. The super cute image is called "Noah's Ark." It was very fun to color!!
I used Hero Arts Cloud background to make the sky. I clear-embossed the Flourish Background then sponged Broken China over it to make the waves.

You might just be able to see a figure dressed in white, dead-centre and about a quarter of the way up from the bottom of the image, to give a sense of scale.

I’m calling this done for now. Basically, everything is there and I just need to go over it and do a lot of little bits of fiddling. Plus I need to light the reactor up etc.
