This is a partial view of the amazing glass facade of HARPA, Reykjavik's great concert hall, designed by Olafur Eliasson. The patterns of all of its facades are changing and ever so mind-bogging. This here looked like an urban bee hive to me :)

No matter what state, city or country, skyscrapers have taken on unique designs such as reflections of other structures, lights, abstract or maybe one that looks like a staircase. Seems like no one structure is designed exactly the same, but to marvel at their design is enough for a painful neck

The building was completed in 1903 and is Romanesque in form and Byzantine in its details, inspired by churches in the region of Venice, especially, Ravenna. Its stained glass windows and extensive mosaics are based on religious paintings.

'Organic in the inorganic' was what came to mind for this picture, as despite the metal and glass and sheer monumentalism of this building there is something organic to the feeling of it: a tribute to those who imagined and designed it.
A refrigeration technician I met inside told me that it was the greenest and most sustainable building in Sydney. Then I researched it and found that it had won all sorts of awards, so: kudos to the architects and builders, and all who sail in her.

As we travel we often times find our solitude in attending church for prayers to keep us healthy during our journey. To be able to take in the many different sights is an incredible life and a great learning experience.
Looking for texture as a theme for this month.... image captured at the Algonquin Logging Museum Trail.
time, they say, is an arrow.
it moves in one direction only.
its corridor is built of repeating, identical moments.
a vast, white, silent structure.
you cannot turn back. you cannot stop.
you are a solitary traveler on a straight line,
walking from one moment to the next.
the destination is unknown.
the path is everything.
