This former industrial district along Fort Point Channel is filled with historic lofts, many housing art studios and galleries.
Colorful architectural homes line the water at Rietplas in Houten, just outside Utrecht, their reflections stretched into near perfection by time itself.
Captured on a quiet summer day in July 2017, this scene is less about movement and more about patience.
With an exposure time of exactly 300 seconds, the surface of the water is transformed into a mirror, softening ripples, dissolving distractions, and allowing color and form to exist without urgency. The sky drifts slowly above, leaving faint traces of motion, while the houses stand calmly below — grounded, yet doubled.
Long exposure photography often reveals what the eye cannot see: not more detail, but more silence. Here, time is not frozen — it is gently stretched.
Technical details:
– Exposure: 300s (5 minutes)
– Aperture: f/11
– ISO: 100
– Focal length: 27mm
– Filter: Lee “The Super Stopper” (15 stops ND)
Fun facts: The Lee Super Stopper reduces light by 15 stops, turning bright daylight into long-exposure territory normally reserved for twilight or night.
A 300-second exposure smooths water so effectively that even light wind and small ripples disappear entirely.
Houten is known internationally for its human‑scaled urban planning, prioritizing pedestrians, cyclists, and visual harmony over cars.
Long exposures don’t just change how a place looks — they change how a place feels.

Antwerp’s Port House, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, merges historic substance with futuristic form. The glass volume floats above the old fire station like a diamond above the water—a tribute to the city’s maritime legacy. Its faceted triangular façade reflects the evening light in dynamic ways. Captured from a dramatic low-angle perspective, the photo emphasizes the bold geometry and the striking tension between heritage and innovation.

This masterpiece of Renaissance-inspired architecture showcases perfect geometric symmetry, intricate ornamental detailing, and natural light filtering through the elegant stained-glass ceiling.
Every curve and every ring of the staircase draws the eye toward the top ceiling, creating one of the most photographed architectural perspectives in the world.

An intimate look inside the completely empty main concert hall (Koncertsalen) of Musikkens Hus in Aalborg, Denmark. Bathed in moody blue atmospheric lighting, this shot captures the breathtaking contrast between the vibrant red seating and the amorphous, fluidly curved white plaster walls.
Designed by Coop Himmelb(l)au, this 1,300-seat hall is celebrated as one of the quietest symphonic spaces in Europe, boasting a complex acoustic environment co-engineered by Arup. It normally echoes with the sounds of the resident Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, but in this still moment, the architecture itself takes center stage.
I looked through the archway and saw the towers of the building standing clearly against the sky. The stonework appeared crisp in the light and the details became more noticeable as I stepped closer. From where I stood, the symmetry of the front made the entrance feel like the natural point of focus. The building is a well known example of English Gothic architecture in Oxford.
The interiors of the Eldridge Street synagogue, 1887, Lower East Side, Manhattan, New York. It was designed in Moorish revival style, Gothic revival, and Romanesque revival by the Herter brothers, Roman Catholic architects who immigrated from Germany and specialized in the design of apartment buildings. The Eldridge Street Synagogue was their first house of worship. The building undertook restoration in 2007. A stunning stained glass window designed by artist Kiki Smith and architect Deborah Gans was added in 2010. This sample demonstrates the use of a new silicone technology that holds the glass together into lustrous, seamless panels.

Trouwens kan ik nergens info vinden over de architectuur van deze gebouwen. Iemand een idee?
A moment of urban solitude captured in infrared, where contemporary architecture meets an alternate dimension. The distinctive curved glass facade creates a surreal backdrop, its turquoise reflections contrasting beautifully with the vibrant magenta foliage that only infrared photography can reveal.
There's something about this architectural marvel that feels almost otherworldly – the way the glass bends and reflects the sky, the bold geometric lines, the solitary figure walking through this transformed cityscape. Shooting in infrared turns the familiar into something completely unexpected, revealing a London that exists just beyond our normal perception.
The interplay between human scale and architectural ambition, between natural elements rendered in impossible colors and cutting-edge design, creates a scene that feels both grounded and dreamlike.

This was a shot of Southwark station on the Jubilee Line of the London Underground. I really liked the colour of the walls as well as the shadow that is projected above the central light housing structure. This is also my first published shot from my new Fujifilm X-M5 camera!

Church of San Agustin. Parish founded by Augustinian Missionaries, 1593. Cornerstone of Church laid 1704.
A striking example of modern design, this image showcases a long, covered walkway lined with bold yellow columns and a checkered tile floor. The strong perspective draws the viewer’s eye toward the horizon, where distant figures add scale and movement to the scene. Framed by a vivid blue sky and lush greenery, the composition blends architectural rhythm with natural serenity—an inviting space for both reflection and exploration.
